if people think background dhikr beautifies a recitation; then this na'at of owais is proof against this. he does not need it. the lyrics are magnificent. kal bhi TukRoN pe unke palte the ab bhi TukRoN pe unke palte haiN it is like mufti e a'zam mawlana muSTafa raza khan barelwi raHimahullah who says: khaate haiN tere dar kaa peeti haiN isi dar ka paani hai tera paani daana hai tera daana tu sham'e rislat hai... masha Allah! the tarbiyah of a father shows through in his children. mawlana Hamid raza khan barelwi raHimahullah [hujjat al-islam] says: Hamid o muSTafa tere hind meiN haiN ghulam do this also shows hujjat al-islam's love for his younger brother, mufti e a'zam. and alaHazrat says about his son: Hamidu minni wa ana min Hamid

not aware that abrar sang naats too! neither have i heard this naat. it seems to have been based on faiz's poem, 'aao baazaar mein paa ba jholaaN chalein" in terms of its meter. the second line, 'khottay sikke jahaan pe chalte hain' i find to be not respectful enough because it can be construed to have a negative as well as the intended positive meaning. that's why ala hazrat warned against any tom dick and harry writing naats. it is 'like walking on a knife edge'. literally it means, 'where false coins are valid tender'--not very laudatory is it? what he means to say is that it [madina] is a place where even sinful, lowlifes [eg like me] are accepted due to the generosity of Our Master صلى الله عليه وسلم but the language and choice of expression is, IMHO, unfortunate.
i like the na'at that is sung by abrar-ul-haq that has words something like this: aao bazaar e mustafa ko chale khote sikke jahan pe chalte hain kal bhi unke TukRoN pe palte the ab bhi TukRoN pe unke palte haiN etc. i think owais qadri has recited it too. does anyone have a link to it?
