AbdalQadir time to move along! will check pm's.

i was speaking generally, and not specifically about this person.

i don't know anything about him and the first i have heard of him is on this thread.

my only implications with the term 'people like this' was towards 'public figures' in general and no one in particular, and i'm sure most people can understand the cynicism behind a general comment about public figures.

my apologies to all the brothers if my post was considered specific to the mentioned Zaid Hamid. :)

  2. In all his appearances he always mentions love of the prophet and how everything is secondary to that. He wears his ishq on his sleeve and isnt ashamed of it.
He often mentions the episode where a woman from the sahaba brought her infant baby to the prophet and said ya rasoolallah i am giving my baby to you for the battle and when the prophet said he is an infant yet she said please take him and when the enemies fire arrows at you you can use him as a shield. Allahu akbar! He usrs this a an example of the love the sahaba had for our Habib and for this many call him an extremist mullah. The hinood o yahood despise him as do the so called liberals,

  3. Sidi its not about emotions. I have just discovered him and at first i was wary thinking he might be just another modernist or something but when i realised he is of pure sunni aqidah and a ashiq e Rasool صلى الله عليه وسلم and yet modern and appeals to the youth
too i wanted to inform other brothers of this treasure too. Here is a clip of him from his 30 odd episode exposition of the life, work and message of hazrat allama iqbal and love of the prophet.

  4. well ok, I didn't realise it was such an emotive topic; I'm sorry, and I take back my comments. and yeah, Shaykh Imran Hossein is brilliant, hafizahuLlah.

    Stop using silly excuses brother....

Zaid hamid and his love for his country is so much that the west and India really hate him....

His agents and work explores so many plans and our miltary uses his research and has stopped many things happening...

NOT EVERYONE IS PERFECT but this guy is surely better then all the people so far that have come out in defense of Pakistan....

Our Sunni Molavis are only busy in breaking black magic or doing bayat with massive chaddar in middle of a hall..... Wake up, the religion Islam is a religion that required human to cover every aspect of life and that to include love and defense of your land!

What hamid Zaid said 2 years ago is coming so right, he warned pakistan that your tough days are ahead and his prediciotn of how storng pakistan is are also true, and that no one can touch pakistan e.g India or America is also true......

His extremem love for his country is what we need and not fault finders like you...!!

MAY ALLAH UNITE US SUNNIS!!! as we SUNNIS are becoming the biggest waste of space in PAkistan

Zaid Hamid and Imran Hossein are both good. They may have a few views we disagree with but the are Ahl alSunna and are doing good work.

  9. So what if he criticises mainstream media? So do we on sunniport a lot of the time. So so people of intellect like Chomsky and many others. Is it because he is a Pakistani I wonder...

  10. I really don't understand certain brothers who find fault with every Sunni somewhere. Instead of being glad we have finally got a well educated well spoken Sunni who can speak fluently in English about geopolitical issues yet from the basis of ishq e Mustafa صلى الله عليه وسلم people are criticising him. He is having a massive effect on the English speaking upper middle class youth of Pakistan and bringing them the message of ishq e Rasool. Even rock stars and pop stars are turning away from their former ideologies to islam and ishq e Mustafa and Allama Iqbal. He is teaching the youth to be proud of Islam.

Mainstream media is conspiracy, do you not think so?

One mans conspiracy is another mans fact.

There is nothing wrong with that. What he said 2 years ago is coming true. Syed Zaid Hamid is Hassani Hussaini Syed. He belongs to true sunni beliefs and he is pure Sadat. He has support from Ahlesunnat wal jamaat in Pakistan.

Yes there is something wrong with that. It is 'conspiracy laden rhetoric', that is what is wrong with it.

Zaid Hamid has fought jihad in Afghanistan. He has done practical things.

He backs the Islamic aspect of the army and is against the secular influences.

    Anything wrong with that?

AbdalQadir time to move along! will check pm's.

as far as i know, parvez musharraf also used to hold Mawled gatherings in his home.

the russian leader ramzan kadyrov also is similar

    it's really paradoxical.

we don't want to sound like secularists who separate religion and politics. at the same time with people like this, their religious leanings, if any, are either shams or no indicator of their practical politics.

these are terrible times. Allah knows best.

  16. exactly! it's his backing of the millatary which is so worrying.

I have many problems with Zaid Hamid. There is his extreme nationalism, off-putting style of talking, extreme rhetoric but little substance, his extreme anti-India/anti-Hindu/anti-Israel/anti-Zionist/anti-Jewish/anti-American/anti-Western conspiracy theory laden rhetoric, his repeated attempts at blaming the Pakistani politicians and bureaucrats while shielding the army and the intelligence agencies from any blame etc. But perhaps the worst thing is that he has no viable solution to the problems he loves to talk about in his speeces and inteviews. Personally, i think that he's just an army/isi stooge.

  18. Someone (not me!) has added running English subtitles to the speech at Jamia Rizvia on ishq e Rasool. صلى الله عليه وسلم and the subtitled version can be found here

  19. Here is an amazing speech which Syed Zaid Hamid
Gave on the occasion of Eid Milad e Nabi sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam
At Jamia Rizvia Zia ul Uloom on ishq e Mustafa صلى الله عليه وسلم

Check out this video on YouTube:

This puts to rest any doubts one may have had about the soundness of his
Aqidah! Allah bless him and give him a long life.

  20. and this is the clip i was looking for where he reads out his aqeedah:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tyqQzUUpPrM&feature=related

This clear statement in front of prominent Sunni ulema from Jamia Naeemia, Lahore, which is one of the most prominent Sunni Barelvi institutions in Pakistan, and the endorsement by the ulema is clear.
