Modern day Hanbali scholars

Shaykh Yusuf mentions here around minute 15 that most of chains in the madhab today go through ibn Abdul Wahab- I thought he didn't have any chains really?

In any case, he goes on to say there are chains in Syria that don't go through the wahabis but he makes it sound like these are very few and far between, unfortunately.

br. Juwayni, the most prominent of them is al-Zamakhshari.....

 

I've heard but cannot confirm that certain Ahnaf were influential in Usul but may have been Mutazila. Someone better versed in Islamic intellectual history could perhaps elaborate.

I've recently listened to a few hanbali scholars including those mentioned in previous posts. One thing I noted was that ibn taymiyyah seems to have a high position with some of them in regards his fiqh. Considering his aqeedah issues, isn't this strange? Meaning, is this normal across the four schools where someone is taken from in fiqh whilst disregarding his aqeedah or is this only specific to hanbali scholars?

There is al-Madressa al-Hanbaliyya that has page on Facebook. The Shaykh who teaches in English at the Madressa is Shaykh Yusuf b. Sadiq al-Hanbali who is a student of the Shaykhul Hanabila of Azhar, Shaykh Sayyid Yusuf al-Hanbali. The Madressa offers courses in English on works such a Lumat al-I'itiqad by Ibn Qudama ('Alayhi RaHmah) and some classes with Shaykh Sayyidas well. These are Tafwidi Hanabila and they are opposed to Salafis.

 

I had an encounter once with a person online named Nasser who is a student of Shaykh Salih al-Asmari, who is said to be ex-Salafi

 

I was wondering... Are there many modern day Hanbali scholars who aren't salafi (if those scholars could even claim to be Hanbali in the first place)?

Indo pak is full of hanafi's, South East Asia full of shafi's, North Africa with the maliki's... Where are the real hanbali's at? And which institutes teach the non salafi version of Hanbali fiqh?

If there are too few of them, would that mean the madhab is in danger of dying out as other madhabs have in the past?
