Give the guy a break.
Bradford have many internal issues themselves they need work on that instead looking for brownie points
day by day issues rising among the ahlus sunnah. Allah make it easy for the coming generations.
I'm still waiting for Mufti Aslam Bandyalvi sb to take sanad back from Wajid iqbal. He still promotes Sayyid Muhammad al yaqoubi.
He's right to refute Zaynu'l because he was on the same stage.
But how come those bidahs are attributed to Barelwis, when it's the Barelwis who are furthest from bidahs in this era?
Barelwis are an easy target. Whenever someone does a bidah, 'oh, it's the Barelwis.'
But the truth is the exact opposite. Who is a Barelwi?
A Barelwi is one who follows #Alahazrat. So when Shaykh Asrar mentions prostration to graves and juxtaposes that with Barelwis, that couldn't be further from the truth.
The people he needs to blame for that are fake sufis. And the person fake sufis hate the most is Alahazrat himself! Because he was the strongest voice against all their bidahs.
What Shaykh Asrar keeps doing wrong is:
When it's positive, he says Sunni or Ashari.
When it's negative, he says Barelwi.
Nah. I ain't having it. The people who are closest to the sunnah are Barelwis. If some people are committing bidahs, the last thing they will be is Barelwis. They might ascribe themselves to Alahazrat or Bareilly, but what's a false ascription? Most jahil pirs call themselves sufis, so shall we start saying, 'most sufis are open sinners'?
Alahazrat was the one who refuted the prostration of respect, circumambulation of graves and indwelling. So please don't attribute that to Barelwis.
Yes, if the institutional problem refers to sharing stages with deviants, Barelwis may have that but it's a wider problem.
Then the shaykh did what he had to do- although I've never heard of zaynul aqtab, who thought it was a good idea to invite someone like that? Disgraceful
Shaykh spoke a few minutes after Zaynu'l Aqtab, whose group believes in indwelling.
What's the context of the shaykhs speech? Was he calling out someone at the gathering?
which one is Zainul Aqtab?
i was googling him to get a pic, and saw this too - https://www.thirdsector.co.uk/trust...-liability-charity/governance/article/1579572
i think sh. asrar did he right thing. you can't make omelettes without breaking eggs.
the aqtab guy shouldn't have been invited if the organisers didn't expect sh. asrar to broach the topic.
more power to the shaykh.
Right speech, wrong time. Right points, wrong place.
I know Shaykh spoke pretty much straight after Zain ul Aqtab, so there was a context. In the time he was allocated, there was insufficient time to elucidate that reality/context.
