Deos do seerah conferences with the one and only intention of stopping as many people as they can from celebrating the mawlid. That's just to exhort salafis to at least mention RasulAllah ﷺ. Whereas Yasir's post has some fallacies: Suggesting the argument is about Mawlid. It isn't. It's about blasphemies, kufr. Claiming devs celebrate Mawlid. They don't. He needs to admit that's their official position. --- As for a Sunni aalim saying, 'if wahabis have a problem with Milad, then don't do it in a masjid. Just hire a hall.' Nah. Do it in the masjid. If wahabis don't want to do it, don't. Our job is to keep Sunnis Sunni. Not to appease wahabis. If we go by that standard, then people will start saying let's just call it Sirah Conference. No, no need. Fortify Sunnis. Whoever wants to come, welcome.
Wasn't that Sh Asrars point to the Salafis? You disagree with fixing a date etc then just hold a gathering in which you recite quran, learn the sirah (events around his صلى الله عليه وسلم. birth), recite poetry etc, call it a sirah conference. Interestingly I saw at least 1 local deobandi associated Masjid in recent years with a poster advertising a mawlid event. Haven't seen it in subsequent years. Either Yasir is hiding his true views or he is being influenced by spending time with scholars outside of his original deobandi circle.
You can ask him which Hanafi scholar (or any scholar) in the past 1300 years or so has done a mawlid and called it a "seerah conference". Is this not an innovation?
Sorry, Yasir, we know devbandis like you for too long. You're actually the worst kind because it dupes many Sunnis. Like Faraz or ibn Adam. You're the shatir devs who won't lift the veil in case the Arabs see. You're lying. The official devbandi position is to not celebrate Mawlid. Check fatwas of Gangohi and Taqi. And if you're not against the Mawlid, show us one from devs that's called Mawlid. You call it Sirah for precisely that reason: that Mawlid isn't allowed. If you're honest, come out and condemn the fatwas of Gangohi and Taqi that say Mawlid is reprehensible. Sunnis Watch out for the sulh devbandis. Worst kind.
I try to avoid spending Rabi arguing about permissibility of Mawlid. Let's just celebrate. But this one needs answering because for me, these are worst types of devs. I prefer the duo who Mawlana Shahid Ali smashed up because they don't do munafiqat in the sense that they don't hide their wahabiyat. Yasir types are very dangerous. It's a new trend of Western devs who want to sell devband to Sunnis inconspicuously. The only time a dev's not a dev is if he condemns his akabirin (sic).
