there was a superstition in the days of jaahiliyyah that it is bad luck to marry in Shawwal or maybe the couple would break up or not have a relationship of love, etc. and there is a narration by mother 'Aaisha that says [rephrased in my words], "I married the Prophet in Shawwal and everyone knows how my relationship was with him" subhan Allah. shawwal is a recommended month to get married from an Islamic perspective, as far as I know. Allah and His Beloved know best.
there are other significant events that happened on this day too. i believe i remember reading in mawlana abu zohra rizwi's imam ahmad raza: khidmaat o asaraat that the torat was revealed on musa 'alaihis salam on this day and he listed a few other events too.
as i know, it is also the day of the blessed nikah of our mother 'Aaisha with the Seyyidil Awwaleena wal Aakhireen, salawaatu rabbiy 'ala seyyidina Muhammad wa 'ala aalihi wa ashaabihi wa azwaajihi wa dhurriyatihi ajma'een
today, it is 10 shawwal 1431. what a muHsin of the ummah! isn't it one of the biggest favours we can imagine that a man ingrained the love of rasulAllah sallAllahu 'alaihi wasallam in our hearts? he was alahazrat. he taught us what it means to respect and revere the prophet sallAllahu 'alaihi wasallam. and, as we have seen recently, not just the prophet but the arributes of Allah Himself. when those who don't even know urdu are praising him to the sky [sh. ya'qubi], then we servants of rida who know urdu and can read his works should be doing far more. those who attach themselves to alahazrat attain a lofty rank. so, come, become those people who know him and the best way to do that is to read him.
