brother, in Syria, very few Iranians are involved. The West and its Arab Satellite allies, will demonize Iran day and night, but the thing is, the Iranian shia extremist is one of the biggest cowards you can ever find! They are only lions inside home.

Iranians in Syria are for overwhelmingly for spying, training, and scheming. They do not fight. They make these three groups fight Sunnis

    1) Lebanese and iraqi twelvers
    2) syrian alawites
    3) turk and kurdish and afghan shiites

The Iranian shiite is the commander, and the soldiers are the arabs/turks/afghans

After posting the news of the video on here I had a brief look at the social media reaction.

I couldn't see why one or two were claiming a gunshot.

There was definitely an explosion however it didn't seem huge as the regime was claiming.

One tweeter said about the delayed bleeding, this can occur when in a deep laceration the shrapnel becomes embedded and the bleeding isn't always immediate (something along those lines).

Also it was said that the pressure of the explosion causes injury which isn't always immediate. The bleeding can be delayed.

I wasn't convinced the man in the black coat actually did anything.

Here's one of the twitter conversation I read at the time.

    https://twitter.com/hhassan140/status/321393275686748160

Something about the video doesn't feel right. The reaction of the people? The lack of chaos, noise? Could that explosion have killed 50 people as the regime claimed?

It seems the rebels are after an individual who appears in the video. A bald man.

Hassan Hassan, from the twitter link above, writes articles for a few publications. I was surprised to see him jumping to conclusions on that twitter conversation. Here's an article of his on Sh. Buti's last words:

Last autumn Hezbollah (Hezbo) leader Mr Nasrallah admitted Hezbo fighters were fighting in Syria but were acting in their individual capacity.

There have been suspicions Hezbo, Iraqi Sadrists and even Iranian Revolutionary Guards are involved in Syria.

More recently we hear about deaths of Hezbo members in Syria. Funerals are held in Lebanon and we are told they were killed 'doing their jihadi duties' without any further information.

We are also seeing images of Hezbo (and other Shia) 'martyred' while 'defending the shrines of Hazrat Zaynab (RA)' posted on a Shia forum and an Iranian Military forum. They'll show a group photo of fighters near the shrine.

    Convenient cover?

For all we know they could have been fighting and killed elsewhere in Syria and it's presented to us that they were defending the shrines.

It's easily done. Shia fighters entering syria first sent to the shrine, recieve blessings, get a group photo shot, then sent away on their real mission. Once killed then claim they were defending the shrine and present the group photo.

A few days ago a Washington Times article quoted an Isreali article claiming Hamas was training syrian rebels inside Syria. Later Hamas denied it, however, it's possible. They could be denying it just like Mr Nasrallah above. Earlier it was said Hamas fighters were fighting alongside rebels against the regime in the Palestinian Yarmouk Camp in Damascus.

    Some articles:

Hamas cuts ties with Assad and sends military to train rebels [Washington Times - 5th April]

This from what looks like an Isreali paper:

Hamas, Hezbollah Take Opposite Sides in Syria [Al-Monitor - April 8]

Hamas, from friend to foe of Syria [Gulf News - April 10, 2013]

George Galloway wasn't too happy with Hamas leader Khaled Mishaal in his recent Comment show on Press Tv. A caller mentions the Hamas leader and George responds:

    [27:35]

George then calms down a little:

    [28:33]

GEORGE GALLOWAY; Arab League gives Syria's seat to opposition [COMMENT]

Hamas made the honorable decision to part from the regime. Just because Syria looked after them in the past they should now stand with the regime against the syrian people?

Anyway. Some may say the more Islamist anti-Assad groups(eg Nusra), being in Syria anyway, could be useful to deal with the likes of Hezbo. Hezbo are said to be formidable fighters but so are the foreign Islamists. As long as they behave themselves, some may hold their tongues for now....(?)

Syria 'death video' of Sheikh al-Bouti poses questions

By Jim Muir BBC News, Beirut

    9 April 2013

A video currently circulating on the internet, purporting to show the explosion on 21 March that killed Sheikh Muhammad al-Bouti in a Damascus mosque, raises many questions about the death of a man who was more familiar to Syrian TV viewers than anybody other than President Bashar al-Assad.

The regime accorded his death massive coverage in the official media, far more than any other single event since the uprising began more than two years ago.

It said the heavily-guarded sheikh was assassinated by a suicide bomber who blew himself up in the mosque in a huge explosion that also killed around 50 students and Sheikh al-Bouti's grandson, leaving many others badly injured.

That version of events is not borne out by the video, the authenticity of which has not so far been seriously challenged.

A flash, a bang, some smoke

The video clip shows Sheikh al-Bouti sitting at a desk in the al-Iman mosque in central Damascus apparently addressing religious students, as he was reportedly doing at the time of his death.

As he is speaking, there is a small explosion in front of the desk. It produces a flash, a bang and some smoke, but is not strong enough to disturb the desk or to shake the camera.

Within three seconds the smoke clears enough for the viewer to see the Sheikh, who has slumped sideways to our left clutching his head. He straightens himself up groggily, adjusting his headgear which had slipped.

Although there is still some smoke, no obvious injuries are visible. The sheikh is also strong enough to sit back up without using his hands to push himself upright - they are busy straightening his turban.

At that point, just five seconds after the explosion, a man dressed in dark clothing moves forward in front of the camera and approaches the sheikh, blocking him from view.

He appears to do something to the sheikh and lays him back sideways to our left, leaving him slumped and inert as the man himself moves off camera to the left, after an appearance lasting only five seconds. He does not reappear.

Five more men then move forward around the desk and pull the sheikh up and away to the right. By now he is already limp and is bleeding heavily from the mouth and from a wound to the left side of his head.

The video ends at that point, after just 29 seconds.

While the sheikh's voice is audible - at the moment of the blast he is saying: "That's not a problem..." - and the explosion is also heard, the subsequent scenes are acted out in silence with just a low crackling sound.

The video has many disturbing and peculiar aspects to it. It raises numerous questions, and leaves them unanswered.

it seems that the guy wearing black (who comes to Shaykh BuTi straight after the blast) shoots him to the side of the head and then walks away.

it was really a heart shaking video brother! Shaykh BuTi held his kuba'a in place, sat up, but then fell on his right with blood cutting across his face diagonally. Something cut across his face and head, and only a moment later he realized and fell, with blood gushing from his open mouth, as if he was out of breath, and his face elongated and eyes slanted and his body falling over lifeless

inna LilAllahi wa inna laihi rajioon

Allah Ta'ala forgive Shaykh BuTi

Sorry brother, I didn't mean to create confusion. I don't know if it was relevant mentioning him being a convert. Perhaps I did so to give a bit of background (context) as I was about to share his comment. I meant to say he posted the video on Syria Comment rather than him uploading it on youtube or actually filming the footage (not saying that's how yourself understood it).

I was a bit shaken by the video.

One thing i have learned is that never to trust these german converts in general. They are 99% spies. They always have been infiltrators and spies throughout Islamic history.

They themselves are operatives killing Sunni Scholars, with the enemies of Islam. They fund both wahabis and shiites.

There is a video of the moment Shaykh Buti (ra) were assassinated. I didn't want to watch it. It is distressing. I didn't want to share it either. Because of the doubts surrounding the incident I played the video. It would have eventually been posted by someone.

It was posted by, I believe, a german convert (Juergen). He also followed with some comments which I'll share:

'Dera'a is falling' (Also includes the reports of Damascus University attack).

Moving on. Continuing on the issue of a looming attack on Damascus.

A clear admission that the rebels are closing in on Damascus. Al Jazeera syria blog yesterday:

It is said the regime strategy of defending Damascus is to divide it into 4 zones, each defended independantly. This to avoid the Libyan Tripoli scenario in which the city fell all of a sudden. If one zone fell to the rebels it wouldn't necessarily affect the other zones.

    Alawites

Posted on Sunniport a week or so ago:

At the time I wasn't convinced on the reliability of the news. The meeting actually did take place in Cairo during the weekend mentioned.

A few people said the meeting was funded by Rifat al-Assad, Bashar's uncle, the butcher of Hama, now in exile in London. If true it would ruin a welcome move. If anyone is hated as much as the regime, if not more, it is him.

One Alawite commentor on Syria Comment said the Alawites were now divided in 3 categories. Some have chosen to fight for Assad. Others are preparing to defend their homes and towns. The third category are the anti-Assad Alawites (like those at the Cairo meeting) who are now more open in their opposition.

the alawites and twelvers of lebanon are the worst enemies of Sunnis. They seek nothing but revenge. Its a fact. They say, for every shia, we will kill 10 Sunnis. But of course the real enemies nearby are exploiting this old enmity.

    Question:

    How did Iran become shiite?

    Answer:

With the help of the twelvers of Lebanon [through a similar murderous campaign].

It was thought once the north was taken, the rebels would move south on to Hama and Homs before heading for Damascus.

Over a week ago it was reported fighters, having taken Raqqa province, were heading down the eastern highway towards Damascus. Although I saw one video with the title describing some rebels announcing a move on Hama.

Rebels have been making gains in Deraa, in the south. 9 days ago Al Jazeera blog reported amongst other gains in the south:

On 29th March, on Syria Comment, in a piece entitled 'Dera'a is falling'
it was claimed large parts of the governerate had fallen in rebel hands. Very important highways were said to be in rebel hands. The governer said to have fled and relocated close to a base.

What was remarkable and unusual was how Syrian MP Waleed Zoubi admitted to such losses in a parliamentary session broadcast live on tv while other MP's tried to silence him. They don't admit to these sort of things.

In recent days the town of Dael has, north of Dera'a has fallen.

Jordan previously kept out of the crisis due to internal fears (it's own uprising) and also fearing harm to Syria-Jordan trade and influx of refugees. It got both anyway. It seems Jordan is getting involved now.

Recently it was said the US was training rebels in Jordan. It seems new fighters and weapons are entering the Dera'a area which are making the difference. It is said the US is now backing rebels in the south due to fear of rebel (Islamist) gains in the north, and to counter them. There may be a race for Damascus.

Damascus could be squeezed from North and South. Loss of the South will take away strategic depth from the regime. Around that area is also from where a lot of Damascus' food comes from.

Also in recent days the regime reported (see same Syria Comment post) that a rebel shell killed 12 students and injured others at the architecture department of the University of Damascus.

Later I saw this tweet exchange. Edward Dark a syrian christian in Aleppo:

A couple of days later there was this tweet:

The english translation of an arabic Shaykh Yaqoubi statement (from 6th March), which was shared on Sunniport on 12th March, is now available. Posted on Essential Islam facebook page on 29th March:

Difficulties of War Do Not Annul the Duty of Jihad

    Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi

Praise is to Allah and may He send prayers upon our master Muhammad, his family and companions.

I became aware of certain suspicions and objections against the Syrian revolution from some people of knowledge. Most of their claims do not require a rebuttal for they are merely doubts and misconceptions. However since reminding people is a duty, I considered it appropriate to reply in light of the Glorious Qur’an.

At the core of these suspicions and delusions are the issues and complaints of killing, bloodshed and lack of food & drink, i.e. difficulties of war. It is further claimed that these difficulties cancel the incumbency of Jihad and that fighting is not permitted because it leads to killing and destruction.

This complaint, however, is the weakness which the prophet [peace be upon him] described as a love of life and disliking of death [Sunan Abu Dawud]. It is the very first thing which Allah Almighty prohibited when He said:

{Do not weaken and do not grieve and you will be superior if you are believers. If a wound should touch you then there has already touched the [opposing] people a wound similar to it. And these days We alternate among the people} (Surah Ali ‘Imran: 139-140).

Imam Al-Baghawi comments on this verse saying:

"This [verse] encouraged the companions of the prophet [peace be upon him] to make Jihad, superseding any concern of death and injury which would come to them on the day of Uhud. Allah Almighty says: {Do not weaken} i.e. do not debilitate and do not desist from making Jihad against your enemies because of the killing and wounding which befalls you. On the day of Uhud 50 companions from the Muhajirin were killed including Hamza ibn ‘Abd Al-Muttalib and Mus’ab ibn Umayr. From the Ansar 70 men were killed."

Al-Tabari relates from Al-Zuhri regarding the cause of this verse’s revelation; a situation which holds true for people in our time:

"The companions of Muhammad, peace be upon him, were increasingly being killed and hurt to such extent their fortitude was reduced. So Allah Almighty revealed this verse, consoling the Muslims in a manner better than He consoled any believing nation before them. He said: {Do not weaken and do not grieve and you will be superior if you are believers}."

The calamities and hardships which befall Muslims during periods of Jihad and war have been addressed by Allah Almighty in several places in the Glorious Qur’an such as the aforementioned verse and His saying in Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 216:

    {Fighting in Allah's cause is ordained for you, whereas it is disliked by you; and it is possible that you dislike a thing which is better for you; and it is possible that you like a thing which is bad for you; and Allah knows, and you do not know}

    Ibn Kathir comments:

“{Whereas you dislike it}, i.e. It is difficult and arduous for you and indeed fighting is like this because either one is killed or wounded together with the strains of travelling and aggression of the enemies. Then Allah Almighty says: {and it is possible that you dislike a thing which is better for you}, i.e. [it is better] because fighting is followed by victory and triumph over the enemies."

    Tahir ibn ‘Ashur says:

"Fighting is disliked by people since it interferes between the fighter and his tranquillity in terms of his life, sleep, food, family and home. It makes a person hold enmity with those who were his friends and it presents the risks of death and pains of injuries. Yet with fighting comes the removal of humiliation caused by a dominating people and their defeat.”

This is the essence of what the Syrian people proclaim: Death rather than humiliation.

Sacrificing life and wealth in war is no doubt lesser than destroying the religion. Hence Jihad, with its exposure to death and horrors, has been ordained as a defence for the religion. The scale between faith and sanctity of time has come in the Glorious Qur’an where Allah Almighty states:

    {They ask you about fighting in the sacred month, say: Fighting in it is a great sin; and to prevent from the way of Allah, and not to believe in Him and to prevent (people) from the Sacred Mosque and to expel its residents - these are greater sins before Allah"; and the turmoil they cause is worse than killing}

It is as though this verse was revealed regarding a situation similar to ours. They ask you about Syria; is the present fighting in Syria permitted? The answer; say: Yes it is permitted. It is permitted to grow and expand until the objectives are achieved and the government dismissed. Preventing the criminals from the way of Allah is worse than fighting. The disbelief of the Nusayri’s is worse. Killing the innocent, exiling people and torturing captives is worse. Causing religious turmoil by making war against Islam and governing with other than Allah’s laws and ridiculing the religion are far greater enormities before Allah. After the aforementioned Divine statement Allah Almighty says:

{And they will keep fighting you till they turn you away from your religion, if they can…}.

This shows that removing this turmoil cannot be done without war and fighting because the disbelievers will not give up trying and nor will they ever stop working to make people turn away from the religion and path of Allah. In the Divine saying: {They will not stop} is the rhetorical effect of continuity and renewal.

This is an answer to everyone who believes that Assad’s regime can better itself and that reformation through dialogue is possible but armed revolution is impeding this. The regime will never detest from war against the Sunnis. In fact it has been commissioned for this by larger states since forty years.

Raising arms was a necessity of the people to counter attacks and protect themselves. Thereafter it developed into a war to eradicate the system and this group warring against Allah and His messenger.

Giving consideration to pros and cons has been mentioned in the saying of Allah Almighty: {If Allah does not ward off some men by others, the earth will be destroyed, but Allah is Most Munificent towards the entire creation}. Furthermore in Surah Al-Hajj: { had Allah not repelled some men by means of other men, the abbeys, churches, synagogues and mosques, in which the name of Allah is profusely mentioned, would definitely be demolished}.

Al-Tabari relates the explanation of this verse from Al-Mujahid:

"Where it not for Allah’s warding off of immorality with good and warding off some people with others, the people would have perished."

As for the claim that war leads to increased killing, then this is inherent to war until its' end. Zuhayr ibn Abi Sulami said in the pre-Islamic era, whilst describing war and its features:

"War is only what you know and have tasted
This is not a speculative assertion about it
When you expel it, it is expelled in shame
When you kindle it, it blazes and rages"

The difference between the pre-Islamic era and now is Islam; now war is Jihad in the way of Allah and an obligation from the duties of Islam. It includes aiding the religion and receiving Allah’s pleasure.

There is a description in the Quran (Surah Al-Ahzab, Verses 10-11) of the conditions and difficulties which the Muslims faced during the Battle of Khandaq:

    {When the disbelievers came upon you from above you and from below you, and when the eyes became fixed in stare and the hearts came up to the throats, and you were harbouring thoughts regarding Allah. That proved to be the testing ground for the Muslims, and they were subjected to a severe shake.}

    Imam Al-Baghawi explains:

"The believers were tested by being encircled and fighting, to identify the sincere from the hypocrite. The saying of Allah Almighty {From above you} is a reference to multiple groups and His saying {And from below you} is a reference to Banu Qurayza."

This bears much similarity to the present situation of the Syrian people, since multiple parties from Assad’s troops have descended as have Shia forces from Lebanon and Iraq.

Regarding the saying of Allah Almighty {You were harbouring thoughts regarding Allah}, Hasan Al-Basri says, as found in the tafsir of Ibn Kathir:

"[These were] varying thoughts; the hypocrites thought that Muhammad, peace be upon him, and his companions have been uprooted."

Within in the Qur’an lies a remedy for every illness; a cure for every ailment; a drink for every burning thirst and an answer to every question. In it is a response to every critic and a squelcher for every polemist. Allah Almighty has unfettered us from those who discourage killing the murderers of innocent people and from destroying the demolishers of Allah’s Houses. We praise Allah that these inhibitors did not join the revolution. This too is mentioned in the Qur’an when Allah Almighty speaks regarding the hypocrites who differed and did not participate in Jihad in Allah’s way:

{Had they marched out with you, they would have added to you nothing except trouble, and they would have hurried about in your midst and sowing sedition among you, and there are some among you who would have listened to them. And Allah well knows the unjust.} (Surah Al-Tawba:47).

The word “trouble” [Khibal] here means interferences in judgment, corruption in action and weaknesses in fighting and order, as explained in Tafsir Al-Manar.

The saying of Allah {There are some among you who would have listened to them} means that amongst you are people of weak faith, weak resolution and intellect who listen to the trouble causers, ready to accept their evil whisperings.

We recite the following verse from Surah Ali ‘Imran, Verse 167:

    {And that He might test the hypocrites, it was said to them: "Come, fight in the Way of Allah or defend yourselves." They said: "Had we known how to fight, we would certainly have followed you." They were that day, nearer to disbelief than to faith, saying with their mouths what was not in their hearts. And Allah has full knowledge of what they conceal.}

Regarding the statement {Had we known how to fight, we would certainly have followed you}, Imam Al-Razi says:

"There are two possible interpretations: 1. The two groups will never fight [each other] so we are returning [home]. 2. If we knew what is worthy of being called fighting we would surely have accompanied you; i.e. what they [the believers] are commencing with is not fighting but rather self-doom. [They said this] because it was the opinion of ‘Abd Allah ibn Salul (chief hypocrite) to stay in Madinah. He did not approve of leaving. If the first interpretation is intended then it is invalid [as an excuse for the hypocrites] because in worldly affairs conjecture is as good as certainty and on that day there were clear signs that fighting will take place," i.e. they had no reason to doubt that fighting would take place.

We read the Divine saying of Allah Almighty in Surah Al-Nisa’a, Verse 75: {And what is [the matter] with you, that you should not fight in Allah’s cause, and for the feeble men, women, and children who invoke, "Our Lord! Liberate us from this town, the people of which are unjust; and give us a protector from Yourself; and give us a supporter from Yourself}. Imam Al-Razi explains:

"This [Divine saying] refers to Allah’s rejection of their [the peoples] abandonment of fighting. Hence it stresses the earlier command of Jihad. There are some points here: 1. The saying {And what is [the matter] with you, that you should not fight} shows that Jihad is obligatory; i.e. there is no excuse for you to abandon fighting when the state of feeble men, women and children has reached such heights of weakness. This is serious encouragement to fight and a clarification of the reasons which obligate fighting: To liberate the believers from the clutches of disbelievers because this kind of Jihad is similar to freeing the incarcerated."

Finally, for those who are dubious of the revolution or inhibit the Jihad, is the statement of Allah Almighty in Surah Al-‘Ankabut, Verse 6:

{And whoever strives in Allah's cause, strives only for his own benefit; indeed Allah is Independent from the worlds}.

For every Mujahid who engages himself in the way of Allah Almighty and bears the difficulties of Jihad and horrors of war, we present the saying of Allah Almighty:

{…That is because the thirst, pain or the hunger that afflicts them in Allah's cause, and the step they tread on a place that angers the disbelievers, and whatever harm they cause the enemy - a good deed is recorded for them in lieu of all of these; indeed Allah does not waste the reward of the virtuous. And whatever they spend; small or great, or any valley they cross - it is all recorded for them, so that Allah may reward them for their best deeds.} (Surah Al-Tawbah: 120-121).

Ok sorry if that's the case. I was tired. Perhaps, based on your previous comment from a few days ago I thought you were serious.

Anyway, I'll take the opportunity to add more to the theme of what scholars are planning and their future role.

Earlier in the revolution Shaykh Yaqoubi organised an event at which he announced the formation of a youth group. As it was in arabic I didn't learn the details and also didn't share the video or news.

Also in a recent lengthy interview (posted on facebook on 28th March 2013):
