    THIRTY-THIRD NOOR

Observe the Urs Shareef of Sayyiduna Imam Husain t on the night and day of the 10th Muharram. This has been a regular practice of the Mashaa’ikh, Awliya and Swaliheen. Observe it, as they did, that is, stay awake the whole night in Ibadah and recitation of the Holy Quraan, reciting Hadith Shareef, Kalima Shareef and Salawaat (Darood Shareef). Offer the Thawaab of this worship to the souls of the Shohadah and acquire spiritual benefits from the sacred soul of Sayyiduna Imam Husain t. This means that one should communicate with the sacred soul of Imam and the procedure is as follows: One is to close one’s eyes and visualize that via the meditation of the Murshid-e-Kaamil one’s heart is connected with the sacred soul of Sayyiduna Imam Husain t. The heart is now receiving spiritual benefits that raise one spiritually towards elevated stations. Try and spend the night engrossed in this meditation. Feed the poor and destitute on the morning of Ashura, as it was the practice of the illustrious Sufiya-Kiraam. With the Barakah of this, they attain progress for the whole year.

One must not indulge in Bid’ah on this night such as making Taziyah, dancing, fire walking, drum beating and other undesirable things. These are all Bid’ah (innovations) and not substantiated by the Sharee’ah. These acts invite the Wrath of Allah Y and discomfort the sacred soul of Sayyiduna Imam Husain t. It is obvious that these practices will certainly annoy the Imam’s grandfather, Sayyiduna Rasoolullah e. Why then not engage in acts that pleases them and earn the mercies of Almighty Allah I rather than the opposite? These moments are meant for accumulating and earning mercies and bounties and not curses and displeasure. May Almighty Allah I guide and protect us from malpractice. Aameen.
