i am currently reading the second volume [of four] of al-malfuz. i only have the english translation but would have enjoyed reading mufti e a'zam's original urdu even more.

the first 40-50 pages part of this volume are all about alaHazrat's second journey to haramayn sharifayn.

it is a simply brilliant account of the imam's accomplishments and his rank amongst the leading scholars of makka and madina. it shows how modest he was and how the scholars would come to meet him and benefit from him and take isnad from him.

it mentions the authoring of al-dawlah and the victory of sunni ulama over the wahabi deniers in the court of the sharif; the fiqhi excellence of kifl al-faqih and the shunning of khalil ambatthi by shaykh salih kamal regarding his burnable barahin e qatiah.

it covers the journey beginning from the outset from bareilly to bombay and then on the ship to jeddah. i have yet to finish the read.

    a truly magnificent account.

my sincere du'a to Allah is for Him to allow people to learn about alaHazrat without any bias. the true way to learn about someone is to read their books; not by judging them by hearsay and the repetition of infamous lies.
