here 'ag'le" refers to the sahaba; the people who actually saw him. the coming generations would have to "see" him (Allah's blessings and peace be upon him), to claim that.
but wouldn't it make sense that, every coming generation says that we never saw beauty like the husn of RasulAllah sallAllahu alayhi wa sallam? I'm not disputing that ag'le refers to past times.
Alahazrat says: Husn tera saa na dekha na sunaa Kah'te hain ag'le zamaane waale I felt this meant: We haven't seen or heard about beauty like yours This is what every coming generation says A learned brother said, no; it refers to times past...
