It is narrated by Abu Zarr Al-Ghifari (radiyAllahu anhu) that he asked: "O Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wassalam)! How many books did Allah send down?" He (sallallahu alaihi wassalam) said: "One hundred books, and four books. Allah sent down ten saheefas to Adam (alaihis salam), and fifty upon Sheeth (alaihis salam), thirty upon Idrees (alaihis salam), and ten upon Ibrahim (alaihis salam). And He Ta'ala sent down Tawrat, Injeel, Zaboor, and Furqan (Quran)." --- apart from the Quran, were all previous scrolls and books revealed in one go? of course, we know the Quran was revealed gradually over 23 years.
