I'll write a post on this later, while the brother does make some vital and important points, he needs to get over the ardent wahabhi bashing, and not be deluded by it. His missing the whole bigger picture and it seems his 'hate' for the wobblers is clouding his thought. I can see why an ever increasing number of brothers and sisters Join groups like Hizb ut-Tahrir which I disagree with in various facets and will never consider being a part of. The truth is every Muslim group/schism and sect complains/moans does very little in regards to political activity that benefits those who adhere to Islam as a whole, and when they do explore the political sphere they do such an abysmal job and usually feed into pressure by western governments or societal expectations i.e abysmal agreements/support for dictatorships, selective condemnation and just generally shoddy decisions. I'll make it clear I feel at unease with many statements and comments or just outright silence that scholars have been guilty of in regards to the political realm, Islam is holistic, political stances are not secondary. Where are people getting this nonsense about working on their nafs and staying away from Islam's politics so as to keep them busy. "One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors."- Plato The most important thing for a person who seeks truth is to remain objective and be skeptical of so-called 'given truths'
But they thought Wahabbis were Sunni a few years ago http://www.salafitalk.net/st/viewmessages.cfm?Forum=9&Topic=6237 Pirzada Baba will not be happy as Jifry is calling an end to sectarianism today. Zia the friend of 'Zia ul Ummah' was also funded by the West to spread Wahabbism in Pakistan why didn't his friend speak up all those years ago
