unfortunately, a number of unexpected issues cropped up - including the hardware upgrade which knocked out the site for 8 hours. i had posted the correct version (v1.1) but without the version number in the colophon. this was immediately corrected and uploaded again; and i tested it by downloading it from another browser etc. for some reason the old copy persisted. now i have uploaded the correct copy as far as content is concerned (see page 12 on the book / p16 of the PDF) one page is added; the rest remains unchanged. [but it STILL shows v1.0] apologies for the confusion and (by now) a few versions. wa's salam. ---- one of the reason we post the PDF on ridawipress instead of locally on sunniport, is the flexibility for us to update. we request brothers to wait for 7-10 days after the initial release (so we can fix problems.) you are free to distribute it and share it on you own websites or post it to scribd thereafter. until then, please share the link so that the latest version is available from the site. this is only a request. wa billahi't tawfiq.
Not read the book myself yet. But MashAllah great work. One thing I noticed is that when you use the link it still take you to v1.0 Copyright © Ridawi Press Rabiý al-Awwal 1434/January 2013 Version 1.0
jazakAllah khair Shaykh Abu Hasan for this. this work can easily be distributed all over. there are very few sunni translations of mawlid works by imams who are accepted by those who are against mawlid. this is a great benefit. jazakAllah khair
just found a few lines missing from the translation. updating now, and in-sha'Allah, v1.1 will be uploaded shortly.
Masha'Allah looks good! Seems a nicer translation than what had been done previously (see http://marifah.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=3180&st=0 ) JazakumAllahu khayran Was-Salam
typical of aH - a sublime work. aH shows originality again with his questions to the de(o)tractors and i loved the concise biographies of the hadith masters. anyone who is just and unbiased will have to agree that mawlid is certainly mustaHabb after reading those biographies and opinions that aH has cited.
mashaAllahu wa barakAllahu feeka ya sayyadi aba hasan, wa jazakAllahu ahsan al-jaza fi'd darain, wa nafa'na bi i'lmik.
apologies for the broken link. the server hardware is being replaced today at our service provider and there are a few issues right now. --------------- UPDATE: the website is back. please download it from there. in sha'Allah.
Assalamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh , I pray this finds everyone well, wrapped in Allah’s mercy and steadfastly traveling the path to eternal felicity, in sha Allah. I have had a quick look at this and as always Sayyidi Abu Hasan (Hafidahullah) has provided an amazing translation. I will look at the rest of this later InshahAllah. May Allah Ta'ala Bless Sayyidi Abu Hasan (Hafidahullah) and may Allah Ta'ala Bless all the brothers at Ridawi Press and May Allah Ta'ala Bless all of the Brothers and Sisters that read 'Sublime Aspiration - A descriptive translation of Ĥusn al-Maqşid fī Ámal al-Mawlid by Imam Jalāluddīn al-Suyūţī Rahimahullah!'
just scanned through it. ma sha Allah. may Allah grant abu hasan barakah in his knowledge and practice and cause Muslims to benefit by him, and protect him and his family.
