And I also hope modern-day speakers can stick to the ijma'a on these issues instead of producing contradictory and confusing apologetics, if that were the case then we wouldn't need to discuss such issues. When it comes to others, we see they are criticised and refuted, but for this particular individual we see no such thing despite making severely problematic statements.
please note that there are some topics which cannot be discussed because, it is an invitation to law enforcement officials. some forums with 100k users were shut down because the admins didn't stop posters from discussing certain issues which are sensitive - such as jihad etc. in which some posters began to talk about ISIS and some began supporting them etc. i do not know for sure, but i heard that it was one of the reasons. wAllahu a'alam. as for jihad and other things, we are traditional muslims and go with the fiqh/ijma of our elders. but i do not think that this forum can be sacrificed to discuss one specific topic. just imagine those who rant about a "muslim hakim" waging jihad - can you find one in the world? if not, then sit down. don't act as if you are greater than salahuddin ayyubi. i have deleted the thread on those issues. hope you understand.
