let us now examine the stupidity or deceit or both of the ahmaq devbandi. the fellow blind in his hatred didn't even get the author right. this english translation is from "nur al-irfan" of mufti ahmad yar khan nayimi. NOT by sadru'l afadil sayyid nayimuddin muradabadi.

we will see that mawlana sayyid nayimuddin muradabadi in his "khaza'in al-irfan" said nothing of the sort. the above quote is from a poor english translation of "nur al-irfan" AND has been selectively quoted to boot.

first let us see the urdu original:

    nurirfan, hjj v52a.png

    translation:
by this we learn that iblis cannot assume the form of a prophet, but can create a voice resembling their voices. the Prophet ﷺ said: "one who has seen, then indeed he has seen me; for indeed, the devil cannot come in my appearance"

however, when the devil imitates the voice and causes confusion [among people], Allah ta'ala will clarify that confusion and the doubt will not remain.

    ======
the english translator took the generic "prophet" and made it specific "Holy Prophet". you may think i am trying ta'wil, but it is not. one should try to read the whole discussion and should not take portions out of context. let us go to the next aayat. mufti sb clarifies:

    nurirfan, hjj v52b.png

    translation:

Allah forbid! (part of prev.sentence) but believers had no hesitation, because muslims were not deceived by the voice of the devil. remember that the voice of the devil was not resembling the voice of our master ﷺ - because every aspect of our master ﷺ is inimitable. rather, in spite of the difference [in the voice] the disbelievers were fooled due to their own mistake.

poor translation is compounded by shoddy typesetting and formatting making it difficult to read and poor flow. fools use this to attack alahazrat! waqayi, qaabil e daad diyanat hai.

how did mahmud hasan devbandi translate verse 53 of surah hajj?

    mahmud, hajj v53.png

    "whatever shaytan added/mixed..."
magar is say ismat par koyi aanch nahi aati. devbandi levels of hypocrisy.

    mawlana nayimuddin's hashiya is thus:

    khazayin hajj v53.png

translation of clip from khazayin v53:
reason for revelation: when surah najm was revealed, our master ﷺ recited it in masjid al haram; he recited it slowly & haltingly - that he would pause after every verse so that those hearing could ponder upon it & also help those who would memorise. when he ﷺ reached the verse: "and manat, the other third one" and paused, the devil whisphered in the ears of the idolators two more words which were in praise of idols. jibril amin informed the prophet ﷺ about this and he became sad, and Allah ta'ala revealed this aayah for his consolation. whatever the prophets recite, Allah ta'ala will protect it from the mixing of devilish words.

the translation of taqi usmani that he so praises is flawed because it takes off on the false story repudiated by ulama - using the word "waswasah" / doubt. more on that later. right now, for the translation and hawashi of our ulama, let us examine tafasir:

imam nasafi after refuting invalid explanations based on false stories, then examines a plausible explanation:
    nasafi, hjj v52.png

    translation:

when all the above are invalid, only one possibility remains; that the Prophet ﷺ paused after "and manat, the third one". the devil added these words [which are kufr] immediately after the Prophet ﷺ paused his recitation. some of them mistook it and assumed that the Prophet ﷺ said it - this is what is described as: "sneaked in by the devil" [ilqaa fi qira'atin nabiyy ﷺ] it is known that the devil would speak in the time of the Prophet ﷺ and his speech would be heard as it has been reported on the day of uHud: "hear! muhammad ﷺ has been killed" on the day of badr he said: "no one will prevail upon you and i am your ally"
