As-salamu 'alaykum It is masnun to pray the sunnah prayers directly after without long wazaifs. Allama Siddiq Hazarwi comments on this in Nur al-Idah saying, that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam used to do small duas like Allahumma anta s-salam, hence it is jaiz and sunnat to make a short du'a before standing up. Also in Bahar-e-Shariat it is written that only a small du'a should be made after fard prayer when there are sunnah prayers afterwards. The wahhabi/deobandi mufti Desai says in his fatwa: The second dua ie. the one after the sunnah salah, is bidah and is against the practice of Nabi (sallalahu Alaihi wa sallam) the Sahaba and Tabi'een(Radhiallahu Anhum). This is not correct. It is written clearly in the fiqh works, such as Nur al-Idah (fasl fi l-adhkar al-waridat b'ad al-fardi), that the imam should face the muqtadis and after the wazaifs he should raise his hands and make du'a and wipe his hands at his face when finishing the du'a. assalamu alaikum, i remember shaykh samir an-nass (from syria) talking about this a couple of years back in sultan bahu in birmingham. he said that the sunnah was to read your sunnah straight after your fardh and then do the dua at the end, but said that short dua like Allahumma antas salamu wa minkas salam tabarakta ya zal djalali wal ikram was fine. i tried following this at the start, but realised that in the context of the sunni masjids, its hard to concentrate on your salah when the whole congregation is making zikr loudly straight after fardh salah. wasalam, haroon
although ibn adam is a deobandi, he has written quite well here on this issue http://deenislam.wordpress.com/mufti-says/ no, i have seen it in other places too.
I thought we recite only 3 times Astaghfurullah and Allahumma antas salamu wa minkas salam tabarakta ya zal djalali wal ikram after the Fard. Thus a short zikr and not a duaa with raised hands between the Fard en Sunnah? Is the situation in the Fatwa maybe a Indian custom?
in fatawa ridwiyyah, imam ahmad raza says that some ulama consider it makruh to make a long du'a after a farD salah if there are sunnahs to pray thereafter, e.g. after the farD of dhuhr, there are 2 sunnahs to pray so some ulama would consider it makruh to make an extensive du'a. the imam should make a short du'a only.
As salamu aleykum, Can somebody explain me this fatwa; http://www.islam.tc/ask-imam/view.php?q=11052 If there is a Sunnah to be prayed after a Fard salah like Zuhr, then we recite only 3 times Astaghfurullah and Allahumma antas salamu wa minkas salam tabarakta ya zal djalali wal ikram after the Fard right? And after the the Last Sunnah we recite; Ayatal Qursi, The 3 Qulls, 33 times Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah, Allahu Akbar and thereafter ''La ilaha illallahi wahadahu…'' and evenatually other things and lastly we raise the hands and making duaa and finishing everthing when we make wipe the face. In the fatwa it says we must make duaa with raised hands after the Fard even if there is a Sunnah salah to be prayed after it. Can someone explain? Was salaam
