actually, if you read Alahazrat and other reliable sunni scholars you learn to think critically, to question and to drill down to bare-bone facts. if only we could read, we would know. what we know might hurt us but what we don't - kills us.

frankly, i am cynical about most of these celebrity shakes and attractive resumes. if any of them is willing to stand a public test on any of the disciplines: aqidah, kalam, fiqh, tafsir, hadith, tasawwuf etc., we can design a test to see how well they measure up. ======= it is not difficult to identify frauds. you can pick up any of the classical simple books of tasawwuf written by great men like imam ghazali etc. and check your favourite sheikh/sheikha - how well he/she measures up. besides, frauds have always existed. even in those good times 1300 years ago. there were people who claimed to have ijazah and that they heard from saHabah. so ulama devised strategies to trap pretenders. the only way we can do it in our time is to make knowledge accessible, such that even common people can detect the elaborate fraud of the celebrity shakes in the west. nuh keller lied, and 5 years after i demonstrated how he lied, there is no remorse - and people seem to have just moved on. at least afroz ali was only interested in money (assuming the charges are true). we have a hamza peddling perennialism, and pushing it up notch by notch. a keller who created a whole new framework out of his own misunderstanding texts... and faraz? faraz had a video post keller's article, in which he said alahazrat made an error. i wish i could find it - just as an appendix to TKM. ======= Allah ta'ala knows best.

Today faraz shaytani gave another khutba at the Sunni masjid of Shaykh Qamar uz Zaman 'Azami. He promoted himself as "Sunni" scholar for a spiritual seekershub retreat planned at a camping site in Ontario Canada. That man's khutbah had no spirituality, little substance, and incoherent. He seemed quite nervous, intimidated by his presence now in the masjid. He stood for the salam and listened to 'Ala HaDrat's kalam even though he has bughz against him. faraz deobandi gave khutbah today at Sunni Masjid in Greater Toronto Area Shaykh Qamar uz Zaman Azami does not know that a deobandi is giving khutbas at his masjid. The masjid management doesnt know either and faraz hasnt told them that he is a student of taqi usmani, having studied with him and promotes him and deobandis of Dewsbury and Bury in England faraz is a great admirer and promoter of ashrafi li thanvi faraz has been coming to this masjid for more than a decade and has a good relationship with them that is actually for publicity to gain students for money purposes. His seekers hub isn't that far from the masjid either
