firefox could not render the bbc page properly when it began, so i think its a good start for chrome.
hmmm. and welcome back to the good old earth. ---- jokes apart, we can expect a more bugs and quirks in the coming days as the world tries chrome. for starters, options are frighteningly minimal (you cannot set defaults like 'clear browser cache on quit'. etc). some cool tricks are that chrome lets you snap the tabs in and out of the window and resize text boxes within the browser and the startup window that shows last used pages. and since the functionality provided by plug-ins add-ons we've been using in firefox (particularly the superlative download manager - down em all) will take some more time and hence firefox will remain my primary browser for the moment.
i was s-t-r-e-t-c-hing it too, running it on websites that used ie specific applications/plugins. but thats no reason to crash, nothing should crash in an ideal software world.
i have managed to crash it a few times in two days. i agree the interface is clean but is not very different than the others, like google search was when it began.
i've been using it since the launch and so far it seems good. strangely our site in chrome loses a few drop-down elements (try quick links in the menu bar), but that might be because it is an older version of vb. vb 3.7 works fine in chrome, as i am using it elsewhere. it is fast mostly and i like its clean and simple and minimalist interface.
