Bismillah... 1. Dha'if Ahadith have been accepted by the body of the 'Ulama for matters of Fadhail al-A'maal as per the conditions that Shaykh al-Islam Imam an-Nawawi outlined. 2. When many Dha'if Ahadith are trying to get the same point across ( for want of a better phrase), it strengthens the case. Keep the above in mind when discussing this. Wassalam
even if the hadith is weak, there are numerous others about this blessed night, e.g. http://www.sunnah.org/ibadaat/fasting/night_shaban.htm da'eef is far different to mawdu'.
“When the 15th of Shaban comes, then spend this night in Qiyam and the day in fasting. For verily, Allah descends during this night to the nearest heavens.” (Ibn Majah). Whilst in conversation with someone, I was told that this hadith is fabricated (maudhu). Can someone please clarify this for me?
