the hadith does not have the additional "wa muslimah". in both jamiy al-saghir and kanz al-ummal, there are four different narrations but they don't have this addendum. --- fuqaha have added this as a clarification; for example in fawatih al-rahmut, the hadith is mentioned with the word 'muslimah' citing from imam azam. in sharh musnad imam azam, ali al-qari says that the word: 'muslim' INCLUDES 'muslimah'. thus, it is an explanation which is widely circulated. regardless, it is a harmless addition and is in fact, an explanation. it is form of mudraj as explained in books of usul. category #20: mudraj and it has sub-categories. the first [subcategory] is mudraj in hadith of RasulAllah SalAllahu alayhi wa sallam - that is the narrator mentions at the end of the narration some words of his own or of others, and says it without a pause [muttasilan], and they [added words] can be mistakenly construed to be a part of the hadith. [taqrib al-nawawi] Allah ta'ala knows best. sharh of musnad imam azam by ali al-qari:
Wa aleykum slaam. Alahazrat refers to this Hadith in Fatawa Ridawiyyah Vol. 23, p.623. You can find the reference there (Kanz-ul-Ummal and Jami' saghir). Read also atleast the first two pages in explanation of this Hadith.
As-Salamu 'alaykum. I am aware that there is a Hadith with the following text: 'طلب العلم فريضة على كل مسلم' There is an addition added by some 'مسلمة', if anyone is aware where this can be found please share. Jazak Allahu Khayran.
