putin is also a hypocrite of the west, and a mass murderer of Muslims

amr moussa should also say "we want protection of civilians from Col Gaddafi"

African Union should recognize that their own countries are sending mercenaries to help Col Gaddafi kill hundreds of innocent civilians in Eastern Libya, Jabal Akhdar and Benghazi region

African Union mercenaries in Libya responsible for hundreds of killings of innocent civilians

No-fly zone enforcement developed into a full blown bombing mission in Libya

Two days into air strikes, cracks appeared within the international coalition against Libya, with the Arab League and African Union growing distinctly uneasy with the prospect of civilian killings.

India, China and Russia too condemned the air raids, with premier Vladimir Putin calling the move “medieval”.

Arab League chief Amr Moussa said. “What has happened in Libya differs from the goal of imposing a no-fly zone and what we want is the protection of civilians and not bombing other civilians,”.

The African Union too said air strikes meant to enforce a no-fly zone should be “limited to just that”.

Now it is clear that what these western forces are doing is illegal. There can not be any justification for this. The so called UN intervention ( supposed to enforce no fly zone) has gone for a toss!

It is a full blown attack on Libya.

Col. Gaddafi has also killed many innocent people

Col Gaddafi is and was a puppet of the west, just as other dictators in the region.

US also steals oil besides contracting it

USA, UK and France attacked Libya stating that these country wanted to impose a " no fly zone" with in a part of Libya , the part where the rebels were in strength. The reason given by western countries was that Libya was using its fighter planes to kill rebels. By imposing a "no fly zone" Libyan aeroplanes will not be allowed to fly in this zone and hence the killing of rebels can be prevented.

But today these western forces attacked the Palace in Tripoli, killing many innocent people. Tripoli is outside the "no fly zone" imposed by these western country.

If Col Gaddafi is removed from power, the next government will be a "puppet government" which will give all Oil contracts to these countries. The oil companies from these country will take benefit and media will never reveal this truth. To make it look "legal" these countries will say:" we have been awarded contract by the government of Libya, so it is perfectly legal".

It is also possible that these forces will take control of Libya and do not allow any government to be formed , giving security reasons.

We should learn from what happened in Iraq. Most of the Oil contract in Iraq has been given to US companies. These contracts were given by the puppet government installed by the US. The oil produced in Iraq is not being used for Iraq, but for giving benefits to US companies who financed the war or financially supported the president of US during elections.

The task of "rebuilding" Libya will also be given to construction companies from these country. These company will make huge profit by installing long term projects in the country.

The same has happened in Iraq.

In a ĥadīth narrated by ÁbdAllāh ibn Ámr ibn al-Áāş, the Prophet şallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam said:
‘How will you be when you will remain [living] among the scum of the people, whose covenants and trusts are all entangled and mixed up? They shall dispute and differ until they become like this’ [the Messenger şallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam] gestured by entwining the fingers [of one hand with the other].

And he [ÁbdAllāh ibn Ámr] said: ‘What do you bid me do?’

He said şallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam: ‘Take what you recognize as right and abandon that which you [recognize as] false. Take care of your own self and leave the doings of the common folk.’

Álī al-Qārī says in its commentary that it means that when such differences arise, it will be difficult to tell the righteous from the evil, the trustworthy from the dishonest; and matters of religion will get entangled and all mixed up.

    quote from the article:
In terms of the exercise of real authority, Gaddafi is likely to be replaced not by Libyans but by the foreign powers which assist in his overthrow. Going by what happened in Afghanistan and Iraq it will not take much for their actions to be seen across the Middle East as hypocritical and self-serving, and resisted as such.

I disagree with that. Gaddafi besides being a spoilt puppet of europe for decades, is right about the drugging. Europe complained about Libya turning into an Islamic state on its doorstep, BUT, its europe whose sending modernist/wahabi "opposition leaders" back to Libya to cause insurrections and instability. Also, europe is bribing the local tribal sheikhs. Remember the british spies caught in Benghazi? and others.

The vast majority of Libyans are Sunnis. Not wahabis. There is much going on the ground. Much behind the scenes.

Has anyone come across the views of Saudi Kingdom on the situation in Libya?

As we know wahabis are divided into many groups. The 'Madhkali group' follows Rabee al Madkhalee, who is saudi scholar and supports saudi rulers. As per him one should not speak against rulers as it will bring fitna.

Since Saudi rulers do not want any public revolt against themself , they support Rabee al Madhkhalee.

The second group is 'Qutubi'. They follow Sayyed Qutub of Egypt. He was in favour of revolt against bad rulers.

Now the present Saudi rulers, if they support the situation in Libya,it will encourage saudi citizens also to go against saudi rulers! Hence Saudi will never support this revolt in Libya.

If the Saudi government supports western forces attacking Libya, this will also mean , saudi kingdom is with those who revolted. Hence saudi kingdom will not directly support these western forces.

The saudi kingdom will not even criticise the western forces attacking Libya, because the kingdom will not like to displease the western countries.

If these western countries are unpleased they might bring the "human right abuse"taking place in Saudi, which will bring a bad name for Saudi. Some of these 'human right abuse" might be true and some times it will be exxagerated to full fill the purpose.

Based on these calculation , my personal opinion is that saudi kingdom will not make any meaningful comment on this situation in Libya.

It is only a political sitatuon, so we can disagree on these matters.

Also, those interested can read books of Fiqh to know about the case of a bad ruler and what is the Islamic ruling on revolt against a ruler.

Europe is interested in Libya because of its sweet oil.

USA never bothered to go to UN when it wanted to attack Iraq. It simply attacked because it is a powerful country. Millions of innocent people died.

But this time , they have passed a UN resolution to attack Libya, to make it look legal. Sixty four( Official number) people are already dead in the attack led by France and other western countries. We can only wait and watch to see how many more innocent people will be killed.

And not all UN approvals are acted upon. Long back, UN approved for a plebiscite in Kashmir, which has not been acted upon by India.

Kyoto protocol and other environment related policies has not been acted upon by Japan and USA. Though, these were not passed by UN , but majority of the counties approved it.

I am not a fan of Colonel Gaddafi. What I want to say is that let us hope a similar UN resolution will be passed for Sudan , Somalia , Myanmar and North Korea.
  12. this is one UN intervention i support. if we did nothing Gaddafi would have carried on killing his own people. he is crazy. did you hear him when he was going on and on about how alqaeda had drugged all those libyans who were opposing him?!
i hope they kill him quickly and let the libyans take back their country.

we shouldnt always be so cynical.

Libya is also a strategic area, being right next to europe. Infact the whole of North Africa. This region is considered the backdoor to europe.

Thats the reason why the colonials were so brutal here and are here.

They have numerous schemes playing out all over North Africa, most brutal of which was in Algeria.

Libya and Algeria are the only ones with major oil resources.

In Sudan , genocide took place for years and no country intervened - Why?

In Somalia , there is no government and pirates are hijacking ships, but no country is interested in Somalia - Why?

In North Korea, military dictator is ruling the country since decades, but no country is interested in North Korea - Why?

In Myanmar ( Burma) , military ruler is oppressing people for so many decades , but no country is interested in Myanmar-- Why?

The only reason I could think of is : Oil .

These country do not have any known reservoir of Oil and Gas.

The name of Gaddafi's son is 'Hannibal Gaddafi'. Can you believe it?

He seems to be the same gangster as his father. Recently, his father accepted billions of dollars in compensation from the Italians for the atrocities committed by the Italian military during the colonizing of Libya.

Were the martyrdom of 1/4th of all Libyans a case of money? Where will these billions go? Into Gaddafi's tummy.
