  1. the agha khan, who does give lots of money to various muslim causes --to which shaykh ahm seems to be alluding--is a batini ismaili shia who are out of the fold of islam by ijma of our scholars since they openly deny the necessary things of the deen...

wiki has some interesting links on him:

  2. bro,
i just clicked on this parliamentofreligions link and ...it looks dodgier than Del Boy at a car boot sale! can you imagine what ala hazrat:ra: would say? He - may Allah perfume the resting place of the Imam of al Hind and al Sind for saving the iman of countless millions--criticised heavily the Nadwa movement which was "just" a working group of various Muslim sects and factions --such was his commitment to the absolute veracity of Ahle Sunnat--as it was giving a platform to heretics and mubtadis--so one can imagine what he would say to this latest trap.

I looked through the list of speakers and i couldn't spot a single sahih al aqidah sunni muslim!

    This seems to be another such initiative and to me seems like an even more compromising one, considering they have various religious rituals from various religions;

and they explicitly state that they are there not to judge but rather to help people strengthen their commitments to their own religion along with giving a positive image of it to others.

Asking a kafir to stay a kafir is kufr and apostasy in itself - is the general rule. A comprehensive analysis of the parliament and its various objectives, events and programs will establish if this rule applies here or not.

Allah help us all and protect us from the puppets who call themselves our "leaders" and "imams" and "scholars".

Here is a ramaDan open house the modernists of California conducted under the tutelage of Suhaib Webb. In this function, the organizers did hold the supremecy of Islam over the other religions they invited; however, please, if you take a look at the pictures, you will realize that of the dozens of Muslim men, only two were wearing a sort of a kufi. The rest were all in suits and ties and casual north-america gear.

Is this the Islamic beauty and culture we would show to the non-Muslims? We Muslims have 60 countries under our rule today. All possess their own variety of culture and kufis. At least we can be faithfull to the beauty that Allah ta'ala has granted us. Our cultures were islamized. We have developed diversity. Why not show the power of Sunni Islam? It is Sunnism that has caused us to develop the Majestic mosques and tekkes in Turkey, and Fatehpur Sikri in Agra, India.

This is modernism that has done so much damage to our Islamic culture. Its an even bigger threat to the western Muslim than the salafiyya.

I wanted to share this with the brothers and sisters here.

Has anyone ever seen the 'amama sharifs that the Sunnis of China wear? They wear it the old style, the old Baghdadi, 'Iraqi, Mawarzi style, just as the Sunnis in Iran and Central Asia.

Brother Abdal Qadir, what is your view on the "Amman Accord" and "The Common Word", do they fulfill the guiding ideology you mention. These two agreements are usually put out in Europe especially to give the 'traditional' view to 'reconciliation'.

This is how Shaykh 'Abdal Hakim Murad praised Agha Khan recently:

“The Honorary Doctorate of Divinity is awarded to individuals who have made a global impact through their religious leadership. I am delighted that His Highness the Aga Khan, whose charitable and spiritual leadership has a truly worldwide reach, and whose support for scholarship has impacted profoundly on Islamic Studies, should have been chosen for this well-deserved honour,” said Academic Secretary in the Faculty of Divinity, Tim Winter (aka Abdal Hakim Murad)."

I took the above from Muslim News. Its recent. Brother Abdal Qadir, do you believe the above comments by Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad fulfill the ideology you mention.

    salam alaikum

i have deliberately put these in the seerah section. if inappropriate, please forgive me and move them to an appropriate section

the reason is, i would like to ask the Blessed Habib al-A'zdham's, sal Allahu 'alaihi wa 'ala aalihi wa sahbihi wa sallam, blessed approach to such "interfaith dialogs" and the attitudes of his Blessed Khulafaa, ridwan Allahi 'alaihim ajma'een.

maybe in this thread we can collect and collate anecdotes from the blessed siyar of the Blessed Prophet, his blessed companions, and the rulings of classical and orthodox 'ulema on this topic.

mind you, it is not just the wahabis who engage in such initiatives but also a lot of real/perceived Sunnis and Sufis too.

MWL to organize interfaith forums around the world

    excerpt:

Interfaith dialogue now needs clear direction

i didn't like this bit from the second link. it kinda gives the image that Muslims are some sort of colonial subjects who need to prove something to these people

    ---

as far as i know, the guiding ideology to such initiatives should be

    1) they should be about peaceful coexistence as humans acknowledging that we ARE indeed different (lakum deenukum wa liya deen) and not giving any airy fairy messages that somehow implicate all religions are the same or lead to the same destination

    2) no compromise on Islamic principles, values, teachings etc.

    3) as an extension of point 2, ISLAM is what should be uplifted as THE only religion acceptable to Allah with no ta'zdheem of kufr or kuffar... sadly in some of these initiatives i have seen the pope being addressed as "his holiness" and other leaders of the kuffar being addressed as "his excellency" and "his eminence" and "his beatitude" which are kufr according to the fuqahaa

    ---

there are various such initiatives like this going around lately, both from "Sunnis" as well as wahabis and some of them (from any side) are very compromising, and thats the state of some of the "scholars"

the common folk are worse with some of them feeling so ecstatic as if they have just washed their sins in 'arafat when they knowingly or unwittingly engage in such puppetry to the kuffar

of course its not all, some (scholars or common folk) do maintain their Islamic gheira and haya and DO work solely for the upliftment of Islam.
