well that is fine. meow being representative of cat, one could say it is a translation of "abu hurayrah". however, by abu hurayrah, we do not refer to the famous sahabi, nor is it a pun on that name. hirrah means a cat; hurayrah is taSghir of hirrah = meaning a small kitten. --- wAllahu a'alam.
JazakAllah Brother Nawaz for your help. My sincere apologies to you and all others. At the time of writing my reply, I had only seen Sidi abu Hasan's reply regarding the handle of @/AbuMeowiyah and I had incorrectly assumed that that was the handle that was still in use. "Shāh Ismā'īl Shahīd was the acknowledged representative of the Waliyyullāhī tradition his generation"Proof? Rather, he was identified as a renegade of the Waliullahi tradition by the scholars of his family & other students of Shah Abdul Aziz.https://t.co/s0nORO2cDt— Abu Meow (@AbooMeoww) April 28, 2024 In the QRT here we see that it was indeed @/AbuMeowiyah that was previously in use - the quoted tweet says "Hamzah wald Maqbul @/hwmaqbul Replying to @/AbuMeowiyah". But I checked recently and the same handle appears to be abandoned. It seems the same person must have noticed the criticism and is running a different account with the username Abu Meow as Brother Nawaz correctly wrote. Sidi @abu Hasan, are the current username and handle of Abu Meow and @/AbooMeoww acceptable?
Generally, it's best to steer clear of anyone associated with Zaytuna College, as they have a record of compromising Aqeedah and promoting modernity (there are rumors of support from RAND, but Allah knows best). Their faculty members have numerous problematic views. Abdullah Bin Hamid Ali not only defends Imkan al-Kadhib and positions that please Jews, but there's also Zaid Shakir who supports LGBTQ rights and has been criticized for giving terrible marriage advice. Ali Atai makes blunders in his lectures on the crucifixion theory and Namoos-e-Risalat. Mahsuk Yamac's teachers include Deobandi Ahmad Palanpuri and Nadwi's, while Jawad Qureshi endorses Deoband Maslak and Jamaat-e-Islami. The founder of Zaytuna, Hamza Hansen Yusuf, not only promotes Perennialism by misquoting Imam Ghazali but also holds questionable views, criticizes Pakistan's decision to declare Qadiyanis as non-Muslims, praises Deobandi Madrasas, considers Deobandis as traditional Sunnis, and praises Tabligh Jamaat. These are significant red flags. Most of Zaytuna College's faculty don't have a problem with Deobandis; in fact, they often associate with them, like Tariq Jameel at RIS conventions, and some even promote their beliefs and practices.
Isn't it still inappropriate? The risk of calling the name of Ameer Muawiyah (ra) to mind because of the similarity seems inappropriate. Just my opinion. I actually have never heard of this account personally, so I'm sorry if this comes off as presumptuous. I don't know about the person who ran the Twitter account to say anything with certainty. Also Brother Nawaz are there other people from Zaytuna College who push the Deobandi agenda?? I would like to know both because this is news to me and also because I'm staying in America at the moment... it will help me get an idea of what to expect nowadays from some of the folks here. I was aware of their modernity agenda and sullh kullism, but not really defense of Deobandiyyat.
"Abu Meow" is not a play on the name of Katib e Wahi Mawiyya رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْهُ, but rather a Muslim Twitter-famous parody account name based on cats. (Abu Meow Al-Kitten or something along those lines). This "Na-Maqbul" guy is not only a Deobandi apologist but also pushes a modernity agenda, probably linked to Zaytuna College.
#ismayil dihlawi the hypocrite.in arwah e thalatha, is a story about how the "tabarrukat" meaning relics of the prophet ﷺ were brought out in the masjid & the insolent rascal shamelessly stay put and refused to stand even when reminded. & gives a justification for his act. pic.twitter.com/DJvARJqp6E— abu.hasan (@ridawipress) April 29, 2024

i showed a glimpse of ismayil's rascality. when he grew a little older, shah abdul aziz would call him to sit in sermons, but he would run away. however, once he gathered urchins and made them sit and he sat on a tree doing mimicry of shah abdul aziz sahib... pic.twitter.com/q4wRmAnPYu— abu.hasan (@ridawipress) April 29, 2024
Lest we forget: This Hamzah Mawbul is a Deobandi from America who described the donkey statement as "universally accepted". I guess the Tweet has long since been deleted. This and the clip of Limbada were described to Shaykh Salek bin Siddina rahimahuLlahu ta'ala. "I have been told that some speakers in America defend this idea. They say don't misunderstand him, give him the benefit of the doubt, look at the message he's trying to deliver about not having shirk..." https://sunniport.com/index.php?thr...at-need-to-be-shared-around.15122/#post-75608 https://t.me/RealityOfTheDeobandis/628 https://t.me/RealityOfTheDeobandis/629
"abumeowiyah" appears to be a pun take on abu mu'awiyah - and given the tafzili/rafidi hatred of that name, it is extremely offensive. al-iyadhu billah. if the person is sunni, he must change it - if not, no point in complaining. tawbah is a must. --- however, the questions and answers are quite interesting. this HwM fellow is a blind follower and doesn't seem to know the history of devs and ismayil.
israeli grade 'truth'.who 'graded' ismayil as the 'brightest' student? his own uncle sh.abdul qadir was dismayed that ismayil couldn't understand a simple hadith.ismayil was a joker - though devbandis dress him up as a saint. ismayil was jahil of basic masayil! https://t.co/iezcWTdgBG— abu.hasan (@ridawipress) April 29, 2024
Number two is comically off point. Shāh Ismā'īl Shahīd was the acknowledged representative of the Waliyyullāhī tradition his generation. He the brightest student of Shāh 'abd al-'Azīz.He was a mutakallim of the first rate, on top of being the top carnivore in Fiqh & Hadīth in…— Hamzah wald Maqbul (@hwmaqbul) April 28, 2024 My proof is that he had the Ijāzāt and Khilāfah of his uncle Shāh 'abd al-'Azīz. Now you furnish explicit proof of your above claims before continuing this discussion.I most interested in the claim of him being classified as a renegade by his family.— Hamzah wald Maqbul (@hwmaqbul) April 28, 2024
