The Walthamstow lot are definitely Rafidi. One of them writes on their site:

These people never accept that the Rawafid are enemies of Islam.

They cannot prove from any book that Amir Muawiyah radiyAllahu anhu curse Hazrat Ali radiyAllahu anhu.

Even to this day the 12'ers and nusayris of Syria and Lebanon are the staunchest anti-Sunnis, so much that they would gleefully team up with druze, and christians, and israeli jews against Sunnis, notwithstanding their blind support for bashar al-asad. Those who know details of hezbo's past, know how everything they have done has always helped the zionist cause, just as everything the khaleeji wahabis have ever done, has always helped america. Lot of people vouch that their enmity is just for show (hezb vs israel; and wahabi vs usa), behind the scenes they are in it together (hezb joined hands with israel; wahabis joined forces with americans).

The staunchest, most Ottoman hating group of rawafiD were the nusayris and twelver of syria and lebanon respectively. They were a minority along the coast from south lebanon to Antioch, but were able to make trouble because of their alliances with the maronite and other christian minorities, and colonial europeans along the same mountainous coast, forming a sizable force to warrant Ottoman attention. They lived side by side with the christians.

i consider the nusayris and twelvers of syria and lebanon, generally, as the most anti-sunni rawafiD on the face of the earth.

Before 1800, Basrah Wilayat was 85% Sunni, 10% Jew, 5% christian and rawafiD.

When the Ottomans penetrated central Europe, it was the mult-front attacks by the wretched safavid rawafiD who weakened their conquests.

Shah 'Abbas Safavi constantly attacked Baghdad and Basrah. Both were overwhelmingly Sunni Wilayats. While in the north there were constant attacks from Georgia and Azerbaijan. Both had mainly Sunni and Christian populations. He also sent spies and ambassadors into europe forming alliances with the German princes to defeat the Ottomans.

The Sunni Arabs in Basrah were loyal, but not to the degree as northern 'Iraq. This is because Basrah had regions settled by big unruly najdi tribes like those in Dhi Qar.

From 1700s, with attacks from the wahabi movement, and then from 1800s onwards with attacks from the Najdi tribes in Basrah, who were rawafiD, did the military strength of the Ottomans was weakened.

There was also the major influence of Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani radiyAllahu anhu on the ancestors of Sultan Salah alDin radiyAllahu anhum.

One intresting point is that when the Ottomans penetrated Europe, two groups weakened their conquests. First was the Rawafid in Iraq, especially Basrah and those regions who rebelled against the Sultan.

The second was the movement of Muhammad bin AbdilWahab in the 1700's.

Recently someone mentioned the great vizier, the muhadith, the Asharite Nizam al-Mulk [r] and his contributions, which causes one to think of how Imam al-Haramayn [r] (and his student) Mawlana Hujjat al-Islam [r] amoungst other luminaries came to prominence, but i read (or heard) somewhere that it was the work that Imam Ghazzali rahimullah had done that produced the likes of the pious Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi [r]. when the najdis where attacking Mawlana Hujjat al-Islam[r] for not including a section on warfare (i hesitate to use the J word) in his magnus opus Ihya al-'Ulum al-Din.

We are in need of such luminaries, who can intellectually address multiple isuses, that we face today.

Sultan Salah alDin and Sultan Nur alDin Zhenghi's first policy was to destroy the the Rafidi's of Egypt.
They wrested the Hijaz out of the hands of the Rawafid.
Then Sultan Salah alDin had the Nusayri Shia placed out of Damascus.

Then Sultan Salah alDin had an aquida written out against the mujassima and khawarij to be read from all the minarets.

When he had unified the lands of Egypt, Syria, Arabia and Yemen under one Sunni Sultan, and had assurance from the Khalifah in Baghdad he waged war on the crusaders!!

  8. it's such a shame to see some Arabs living in such luxury while they watch Al-Quds under oppression and do nothing about it
it will soon be too late for the palestinians and masjid al-aqsa but us Muslims will still be fighting over sunni vs wahabi vs deobandi vs shia
