I don't think having 82 wives is allowed in Islam. From what I've learned, if we want to have another wives after we had 4, we must divorce one of them... Allah Ta'ala know the best __________________ Free Eid eCards Islamic Ramadan Postcards
in our madh'hab [and others as well i think], the latest 82 will automatically be invalid; so the question of divorce does not arise. but the penalty for adultery for a married man cannot be waived unless those marriages are mere ceremonies. Allah ta'ala knows best.
why did someone even post the silly question of asking if it is allowed in the Maliki madhab, who for once thought that the person in question is Maliki anyway.
misplaced priorities. that is why people should learn fiqh first before looking into tasawwuf. the principle of fiqh clearly states that we cannot abandon that which is certain in lieu of that which is conjecture. this old man is a heretic for dozens of obvious reasons - like denying the ijma'a of only 4 wives being permissible when there is also an explicit naSS to that effect; which actually puts him into kufr and not mere heresy. but that ruling shall be given only when it is ascertained that he has said all of these things indeed as reported by the bbc. however, we have no clue of the other imam who ruled this octagenarian a heretic; yet, you are speculating that he must be a wahabi! --- shall i not remind myself and you of the beautiful saying, a fragrant flower from the garden of prophetic wisdom: 'the beauty of a man's islam is, that he forsakes, that which concerns him not.'
"She says that most of the wives see Mr Bello Abubakar as next in line from the Prophet Muhammad. Indeed, he claims the Prophet Muhammad speaks to him personally and gives detailed descriptions of his experiences. It is a serious claim for a Muslim to make. "This is heresy, he is a heretic," says Ustaz Abubakar Siddique, an imam of Abuja's Central Mosque." It is not heresy to see and speak to our Master Sayyiduna Muhammad salAllaho 'alayhi wa alihi wa salam. Ustaz Abu Bakar Siddique could be a wahabi Nigerian. And thinking of their husband as next in line to RasulALlah is not really that clear. If it means in spiritual succession, if Bello Abu Bakar is in the Tijani Tariqa, then this thought is not heresy as well. But 86 wives? Asking his children to beg? So he could not support these wives. This is not shari'a law. This is Nigerian tribal law. The Tijani Tariqa is free of this. This could definitely be heretical
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/7547148.stm Is this allowed in the Maliki madhab. Isn't 4 the command of Allah ta'ala. I thought it was only jaahil wahabi saudis, who do not really follow shari'ah but Najdi desert law mixed with shari'a, who do this.
