The baseline has to be: Anyone who is ok with Tahir ul, Abdul Qadir Shah, Hamza and other such deviants is not to be shared a stage with. And if you do, as above, you have to clarify. --- Any of the ulama who we have criticised for doing so are welcome to sit with us at my local masjid, in the presence of other ulama, and discuss it. I am more than happy to have someone like Mufti Shams present and I explain why we are right to criticise. And will keep doing so, i.e. whenever our ulama go to dodgy people, we will post publicly against them by name. Your choice. --- Brilliant two posts @abu Hasan above. Must read.
Sidi abu Hasan, with due respect, I think you may have accidentally posted the wrong link here. I believe this might be the correct link.
a post i had made ten years ago: https://sunniport.com/index.php?threads/shaykh-yaqubi-on-alahazrat.8751/page-3#post-48220 =====
this is why prominent people should stop doing such things - because they influence others. then common public will follow them. ---- nobody will remember you for being unable to take a stand. this generation may be charitable - but after 10-20 years no one will find excuses for your inability to stand for principles. sympathy for your good work, and hence muted criticism, will last only for a few years. the new generation does not remember what abdul qadir shah did / zahid shah debating TuP or tahir padri speaking eloquently on kanzu'l iman; or irfan shah shouting kafir kafir against the tafdilis; and so on. ---- anyone who associates with that dajjal tahir jhangvi - who invoked la'anat upon himself - will most probably get a share from it. al-iyadhu billah. cited elsewhere is a hadith: ...a hadith reported from RasulAllah sallAllahu alayhi wa sallam that he said: 'when fitnah [strife, mischief, heresy] becomes prominent [comes to the fore, becomes apparent] or he said: 'when heresy and cursing my companions [becomes apparent] then every scholar should demonstrate his knowledge. whoever does not do so, the damnation [la'anat] of Allah and angels and all the people will be upon him. Allah ta'ala will not accept either his farD or nafl deeds". [see here] of course, "shaykhs" with following can try to browbeat people like us - but the severe censure in the above hadith inevitably hangs upon their heads. nas'alu Allah al-aafiyah.
