Surely if I'm misunderstanding the first response... The mufti starts talking about fataawa hindiyyah and how there was a group known as mubahi who were actually murtad but he gives this name to mufti nizammudeen? Kind of like a soft takfeer or if not a soft takfeer, it's still an over reaction over the fiqh of songs? Related to this- this kind of harsh refutation over something minor whilst providing no academic rigour is what pushes a lot of people into the arms of the goofy sufi airy fairy zaytuna or yaqoubi type crew, unfortunately.
those who criticise mufti nizamuddin have probably never read ihyaa. please read imam ghazali's classification of singing and music. misbahi sahib probably does not know the meaning of 'mazmun'. ---- looks like these mufti sahiban are eager to fault mufti nizamuddin and have jumped the gun. nas'alu Allah al-aafiyah.
the fatwa of mufti nizamuddin sahib is correct. i don't know what the mufti sahib who tries to fault mufti nizamuddin was thinking - he is clearly over reacting and obviously wrong in many places. though mufti nizamuddin didn't mention music - and in common parlance, 'gaana' means 'singing with music'. which i think he is tackling in the rejoinder.
Here is another refutation of Mufti Nizamuddin By another Misbahi (graduate of the Same college) Mawlana Rahmat Ali Misbahi.
