The article exagerated certain aspects to the extent of neglecting others. That is the least I can say. The way of the Habaib is charecterized by Ilm, Amal, War', Khawf and Ikhlas.
Sidi Wadood, I was just posting a link to an article in the Guardian. TBH, I was shocked that a non-Muslim journalist would travel all the way to Tarim to produce a very positive article about traditional Sufi Islam. If a mainstream paper such as the Guardian does an article on you, you sure can't be a secret anymore. There will always be haters (and I think I know who you mean by 'wolves') but the blessed Habaib will survive despite them and any other enemies.
Below is just a general suggestion not targeted towards anybody. I believe it is best we avoid advertising the Habaib of Yemen and Hijaz over the "media" here in the West. We have too many wolves here in the West. Also, we should try to encourage others to avoid. The wolves would never have known about them if we Muslims would not have introduced them here as such today. May be another approach of introduction would have turned out better, but not the way it is today. So, we must scale down. We must leave the advertisement of the Habaib in the hands of the Habaib themselves for now. They are doing it on their own in the Middle East on a massive scale. They know what to do. It is best we leave them local and a secret. They have survived a thousand years and have converted 1/4 the Sunni world to Sunnism in their secrecy
s1: A beautiful article in the Guardian, where a British journalist spent time in Tarim with the Habaib: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/oct/24/madrasa-islam-yemen-women I've never met any of the Habaib yet --unfortunately-- but it really seems that they are the real deal, there appears something wholesome and holy about them. Certainly when I see videos or photos of Sayyid Habib Ali, I am always struck by his nobility and beauty and 'noor'. Well, I'm back! The little break was good for me but now I'll rejoin this forum actively insha Allah and only for the positive.
