Assalam `alaikum, You are right brother. This is a personal matter and I have written to him personally as well. The reason I wrote here is to gather support from other bros in my appeal. I don’t see any reason why sunniobserver has to be changed to bro zero. It sounds a bit derogatory, and un called for. Me thinks this is not the way a person should show his gratitude to Allah azzawajal, when the almighty increases his knowledge by the day. True, imam Ghazzali says, the more knowledge Allah azzawajal bestows on his subject, that much more he realizes his insignificance and smallness in front of him. But this humility should be between Allah and that person. Have you seen any of the scholars use these type of taqallus or nom de plume? On the contrary some of the famous scholars have revealed the knowledge granted by Allah with an intention of showing gratitude [wa amma bi ni`ymati rabbika fa haddis]. These type of handles whilst hurts his friends, gives his opponents a chance to mock.
