i have to say i have never before seen shah sahib so humble in front of anyone as he was in front of shah abdul haq sahib. he bowed low and said, 'i am your servant'. [main aap ka khaadim hoon] and also 'i am in need of your prayers' [aap ki duaon ka muhtaaj hooN].
Thank you for that nj, I like to see videos of such Shaikhs and you really do get that spiritual taste. I have found another excellent video and it is very rare to see the LaLa Jee Sahib's speaking in any video but this has Shaikh Syed Abdul Qadir Jilani and Shaikh La La Jee (Shah Abdul Haq). What I loved is that both talk about some of their teachers, oh my these were the greats of Ahlus Sunnah. Afterwards Shaikh Syed Abdul Qadir Jilani Sahib visits Shaikh Peer Syed Naseerud Din Sahib and an ilmi discussion takes place between the two! At the end he gifts a book to him which has some very nice handwritten words of praise in it (for Shah Sahib's knowledge etc): http://www.yanabi.com/MediaPlayer.aspx?fileID=1217
Of course Aqdas Bhai! You're correct--we love all awliya. I didnt mean it was exclusive at all!! "Sab darbaar hamaaray hain; sab buzurg hamaaray haiN"!
i'm sure you didn't mean this but you make it seem like love for the two is mutually exclusive. do you see where i am coming from? to clarify: those who follow alaHazrat don't have any problems whatsoever in having love for other sunni awliya. we love pir mihr ali shah because he was sunni. we only have hatred for the deniers.
...on a personal note, though I love Sayyidi Ala Hazrat :ra: and am a proud and in-your-face (!) Barelvi, and though I have no personal link with Golra Sharif, I have a special love for Sayyidi Pir Sayyid Mihr Ali Shah sahib :ra: - may be it is coz I am Punjabi and grew up hearing about Pir Mihr Ali Shah sahib from my family and others I've known. It is perhaps not an exaggeration to say that from the awliya who have lived in the past century, there is none who holds the same level of respect as the awliya of the earliest times (such as we read about in Tadhkirat al Awliya) except for Khwaja Golrawi in the minds of the populace of Pakistan.
:s1: "First time online - Mufakkir-e-Islam Hadrat 'Allamah Dr. Pir Sayyid 'Abdul Qadir Shah Sahib Jilani visits Hadrat 'Allamah Sahibzadah Pir Sayyid Ghulam Nizam ad-Din Jami Shah Sahib Gilani the son of the late Nasir-e-Millat Hadrat 'Allamah Pir Sayyid Nasir ad-Din Nasir Shah Sahib Gilani (rahimahullah). This event took place in Gaularah Sharif, Pakistan in May 2009." http://www.qadirijilani.com/052009.html I really liked this video and recommend it highly. It is NOT a lecture or speech but a (rare) chance to see Hazrat Sahib as he really is in person. He is visiting Golra Sharif to pay respects to and offer condolences to the sons of the late Pir Nasiruddin Nasir Golrawi rahmatullah alayh and has a long and deeply spiritual conversation with the eldest son (I assume) of Pir Nasiruddin about his father and, especially, about his great ancestors, Hazrat Lala Ji, Hazrat Babu Ji, and, of course, the great Pir Sayyid Mihr Ali Shah Golravi :ra:, the light of Golra Sharif and his personal relationship with this esteemed Prophetic family. Though I myself am not bayah with Golra Sharif I think most people will agree that it is the most famous gaddi in Pakistan. The only issue some people may have is that the language spoken in this--it is a private visit remember--is a dialect of Punjabi called Potohari; however even Urdu speakers will be able to understand most of it. Very touching and gentle and powerful. Shah Sahib talks about some of his own spiritual experiences in this which is nice. I also liked the bit where he mentions that one gift he has been given by Allah is that he can tell from the taste of food whether it has been cooked by a sayyid or not! And he talks about Our Master Mawlana Rumi :ra: Sadr al-Din Qunawi was asked, "What kind of person was Rumi?" (He was Rumi's disciple and son-in-law too (I think) and also the stepson of Ibn Arabi!) and he replied, "Allah is pure from having any kind of form but if He did have a form He would've been like Rumi!"
