I agree with you until I received this email: 7 Common mistakes usually we make in prayers Listed below are the 7 Common mistakes usually we make in prayers Mistake 1: Reciting Surat al-Fatiha fast without pausing after each verse. The Prophet (SAW) used to pause after each verse of this surah. (Abu Dawood) Your thoughts? JazaakAllah.
Wa 'alaykum as-salam If this was a requirement (wajib) it would have been mentioned in almost all hanafi fiqh works, but it is not. The nearest I could come it that it is mentioned in Bahar-e-Shari'at that in fard prayer, one should "thahar thahar kar padhna", but this about the speed - and they are not talking about wajibat there. I have not learnt - in fiqh nor tajwid - that this should be necessary and I have prayed salah behind great scholars and muftis, all reciting by joining verses in Surat al-Fatiha. Hence it is not a matter of wajib - and it is does not invalidate or require that you repeat your prayer. Allah Hafiz Ibn Amin
