'The Cuckoo's Egg' nostalgia..... linux systems might not be vulnerable to viruses but it seems they are pet targets for hackers imagine if the security hole was deliberately put there, so NSA could spy on millions of people (hiring unknown individuals likely, like the chinese supposedly do, so they can avoid repercussions if another snowden comes along)- eavesdropping on their traffic, or maybe generating false traffic to frame people. Not that far-fetched given that Big Brother has shown his hand forcefully in recent times....
