from fatawa ridawiyyah, vol.25, p.275 alaHazrat quotes a hadith from rasulAllah sallAllahu 'alaihi wasallam that: "whoever sold the hide [skin] of the qurbani animal, his qurbani is not accepted". [kanzu'l 'ummal, hadith 12205]. this does not mean that a man cannot sell the hide at all. it means that he should not sell it so that he himself profits. the profits must be given to the poor.
