assalam`alaikum, a couple of articles for you to read about tasawwuf : http://www.suhba.org/tasawwuf/2004/public/ http://masud.co.uk/ISLAM/ahm/fgtnrevo.htm I highly recommend the Sufi path CD on www.suhba.org. Go to : Lessons --> The Sufi path CD - by the way "schools of thought" is just a translation of Madhab or maslak - and the four schools of thought constitute the mainstream. everything else is not mainstream. http://masud.co.uk/ISLAM/ahm/newmadhh.htm wassalam abu nibras
Asak, I have seen lot of people who carry the names Chisti/Quadri/Naqshbandi (I don't recall more names) which if I am correct identifies a particular Silsila. There are also people who look at these names in a negative way assuming it relates to a particular school of thought or something other than main stream. Personally I know don't much. Can anyone on these forum shed some light on this topic. Jzk, -Z
