Shaykh 'Abd al-Wahhab Shar'ani al-Hanafi (rahimahullah) has written an outstanding manual of tasawwuf, entitled tanbigh al-mughtarin.

Mulla 'Ali al-Qari al-Hanafi (rahimahullah) has written a commentary to Imam al-Ghazali's (rahimahullah) Ihya, in two volumes, 'Ayn al-'ilm wa zayn al-hilm.
Moreover his book of Prophet Invocations, al-Hizb al-a'zam which is the basis for Imam Jazuli's (rahimahullah) Dalail al-Khayriat.

Imam Abu Hanifa's (rahimahullah) two years with Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (radi Allahu 'anhu) about which he said, "law la sanatan lahalaka nu'man". This is mentioned explicitly in al-Durr al-Mukthar. And 'Allama Ibn 'Abidin (rahimahullah) has commented on it in his Hashiya, radd al-muhtar.

Mujaddid Alf Thani Imam Ahmad al-Faruqi al-Sirhandi (rahimahullah) was definitely a hanafi scholar also. Read about his life, and you'll find out. There are plenty of pages, for instance http://www.mujaddidalifsani.com. There are even fiqh question in the hanafi school were he has made his own ijtihad, that is followed by millions of hanafi, as not raising of the index finger in tashahhud.

Shah 'Abd al-Haq Muhaddith al-Dehlawi al-Hanafi (rahimahullah), student of Mulla 'Ali al-Qari al-Hanafi (rahimahullah) has written books on tasawwuf that are available today.

What about the classical manual of tasawwuf, Kashf al-Mahjub
by Abu'l Hasan 'Ali Ibn 'Uthman al-Hajwiri al-Hanafi, famous Data Ganjh Baksh, (rahimahullah), who has not heard about him?

What about the Spiritual Master, Shaykh Muhammad Shams al-Din al-Hanafi (rahimahullah), the Great Master 'Abd al-Ghani al-Nablusi al-Hanafi (rahimahullah) or Mawlana Jalal al-Din Rumi al-Hanafi (rahimahullah) - what are their position in 'ilm al-tasawwuf? Mawlana Jalal al-Din Rumi's (rahimahullah) Mathnawi is also available online in english.

Just to mention a few names... :)

And the works of the Great Imam of 'ahnaf Ahmad Rida Khan al-Hanafi (rahimahullah) may not be unknown to anyone.

there seems to be plenty of material on the sufism of major shafi'ites but in regards to Hanafis - not much is available on-line

does anyone have any references showing, for example, that ibn abidin was a naqshbandi?

did Ibn Hummam have a tariqa? what about the other later imams of this school...?

was Bahauddin shah naqshband a Hanafi? what about al-Sirhindi? and is there any proof of their hanafism?

any statements from Imams Abu Hanifah, Abu Yusuf, or Muhammad regarding tasawwuf?

references would be essential, of course.

    jazakumallah khayra
