is this documented anywhere? the famous poet, mohsin kakorwi came to bareilly to get sayyidi alahazrat to check a qasida he'd written re:miyraj sharif. alahazrat asked him to come after asr when it's time for public audience. he did so but alahazrat said, before i hear your qasida, i'll present my own. alahazrat presented qasida e miyraj [which he had composed in those few hours between mohsin coming and asr] and when mohsin heard it, he put his own qasida away and didn't bother to read it out. --- now, this could certainly be true because the qasida e miyraj is that good but is it recorded? --- muhaddith e a'zam kichochawi recited the qasida at a gathering in lucknow, home of pure urdu. the audience heard it and were left dumbstruck.
Although I don't fully understand it, I am still moved. Allahumma salli wa sallim wa barik `alayh wa `ala alih! Any chance of a translation? Also, sayyidi Abu Hasan, your translation of arabic poetry is brilliant. Perhaps, another qasidah from Imam al-Haddad?
i like the rendition by the late mushtaq: PART 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQC1B5OTq_o PART 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLcSH1LOggA a clip from the above, a little better recording: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zd7CZUCL7bk
