But brother Sabri, people's opinions about Shaykh Nuh has changed drastically though due to some of his works and statements due to which Huzoor Taajush Shariah himself had to give a reply to his works.. truly remarkable Sidi. You can also see this in the excellent students they have produced which by Allah's Grace are so many. Sidi Faraz Rabbani, Sidi Hamza Karam'Ali Sidi Mustafa 'Azam, Sidi Sohail Hanif and many others from Shaykh Nuh HafizuhuAllah; numerous other students from Shaykh Hamza Yusuf and now from Imam Zaid Shakir as well. You can then also look at the students in the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, besides North America. subHanAllah! True understanding of the Deen can only produce an explosion of 'ilm like this. But the emphasis here is still on quality and not numbers. Numbers was just a consequence of the light these scholars are. Just like that, once coming under the influence of these scholars, everthing became clear to those who were 'ilm seeking. No more confusions. Even non-muslims now had a source of clearance, which certainly tempted them to accept Islam. How many non-Muslims have become Muslims due to men like Shaykh Hamza Yusuf, only Allah subHanahu wa ta'ala knows.
I have heard this quite a few times especially from the mureeds of Shaykh Nuh hafidhullah , one of them also pointed out that, is't is remarkable that it is within just two or three years of these scholars of the west reverting to Islam that it was the turn of the islamic century in which the west was to be hugely influenced by these scholars. --an
:s2: There is something very peculiar about this year. It is in this very year that Shaykh Nuh HafizuhuAllah ta'ala, Imam Zaid Shakir, Shaykh Hamza Yusuf all accepted Islam. It is around this year that Dr Faruq 'AbdAllah (1970), Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad also accepted Islam. SubHanAllah!
