i too am beginning to think this 'revolution' has off track. it's like some boarders started protesting against a cruel and ruthless hostel warden and on hearing the commotion many street-thugs, seeing their chance, got in and began thrashing up everybody, some were settling past scores with the boarders while others actively spreading chaos with a view to tire both sides and thus take control of the premises and set them up as their 'den' to launch bullying, killing and looting operations on the neighborhood, all the while claiming telling the bystanders that they are 'rescuing' the poor children from a bullying hostel warden!!

i think the true syrians should start clearing their ranks of such 'sympathetic helpers' before they are 'helped' out of all authority, security and peace in their own homeland!

" O Allah help the helpers of the deen of Sayyiduna Muhammad sallallahualayhiwasallam and make us of them and destroy the enemies of the deen of Sayyiduna Muhammad sallallahualayhiwasallam and make us not of them " Ameen.

You seem certain they are FSA and not peaceful demonstrators or random civilians?
(Not that it's ok to torture FSA).

    They plot and plan...

Are we not expecting Islam to rise up again? Particularly in that region? Can the aforementioned prevent it?

The syrian regime prevented scholars from having a voice. They were unable to help voice the peoples concerns. Depriving the people of such avenues made what happened inevitable. The scholars influence was bound to diminish.

When the crisis began and the youth rose up, the regime brought in Sh. Yaqoubi for interrogation twice, asking him to help calm the people. The Shaykh replied how could I when you (the regime) have allowed the gap between the government and people to grow wide. Reduce the gap, the Shaykh advised them.

A secular syrian elsewhere made the above point.

The scholars, free to do their work, will help bring back Islam. InshaAllah.

This is a response to a post from the 'Convoys: Mahram' thread. I thought it would be better for this thread. Could have started a new thread 'After the 'Arab Spring' ' however I don't think I'd follow the thread up.

True. Deep down we all know that success comes from God Almighty and only true Islam is the answer and solution to the problems. We can arguably back (eg) the Syrian people on the grounds of oppression, however, I've always felt the real revolution, one we desire and can fully embrace, is yet to come.

Islam is sure to rise again InshaAllah. The least we can hope for, post-revolution, is that Ulema are allowed their rightful role in society which they were previously denied. The people may not be ready to embrace or support Islam right now due to having lived under secular regimes so work has to be done on them. Hopefully in this environment Islam can flourish and people will one day be ready to bring about the change we desperately want to see. A revolution we can call our own.

After Assad falls, InshaAllah, there will be tears of joy. The people will not be denied that day. Many will finally get the chance to really mourn for the loss of loved ones. Up until now, the situation has been unceasing and many will not have had a chance to mourn or for the losses to sink in. There will be a huge outpouring of emotion.

Still, we will wait for another day. Our Mela will come. Inshallah.

the above were local two main reasons.

But the root cause of the killing and displacement of Sunnis in 'Iraq, and now in Syria is the imperialist state that is emerging next to jordan, and its allies in najd and qom and south lebanon and amreeka and elsewhere

People dont know, but the general twelver population in Iran is the most tolerating and kind and least sectarian you can ever find! They are not genocidal maniacs as the devils hezbu shaytan in Lebanon, and their "alawites" in syria, or the hardcore sectarian twelvers in afghanistan and pakistan, even more in pakistan.

The people in iran are very tolerant in most shiite Persian speaking and non-Persian speaking regions, especially in the heartland, and majority of the youth (and the population) are in favour of Syrian Sunnis. This is their nature. i am only talking about their nature in general; of course there are exceptions, and these exceptions are large in number, for example, the shiite twelver iranian kurds and their related tribes are very sectarian. Thats one group. But again this i believe is in their deep connection to neighbouring 'Iraq.

we know that most killing of Sunnis in 'Iraq was done by shiites, but in my opinion, there were two main reasons for this: the genocidal twelver devils of south lebanon and iranian regime, and iraqi tribalism and politics

DESPOSING THE RULER WHEN HE BREACHES THE INTERESTS OF MUSLIMS
DEPOSING THE RULER WHEN HE BREACHES THE INTERESTS OF MUSLIMS

    ***
Some Students asked the question regarding the Permissibility of Deposing the Ruler when he Breaches the Interests of Muslims.

We present here the response from our Grand Shaykh,
The Shaykhul Islam, Al-Qutb Ar-Rabbani, The Ocean of Shari`ah, Tariqah and Haqiqah ...
As-Sayyid Al-Shareef, His Eminence Shaykh Muhammad Abul Huda Al-Yaqoubi Al-Idrisi Al-Hasani [hafizahu Allah wa Qaddasallahu sirrahu] ...

Deposing the Ruler When He Breaches the Interests of Muslims

    By H.E. Shaykh Muhammad Al-Yaqoubi

Al-Imam Al-Sharif Al-Jurjani says, commenting on the statement of Al-Iji, “It is upon the Ummah to oust the leader:”

"It is upon the Ummah to oust and depose the leader when a factor necessitating this transpires.
Such as the emergence of something from him which disrupts the affairs of the Muslim or relapses matters of the religion.

[Deposing and removing him] is upon the Ummah exactly as the initial selection and appointment of the leader for governance was upon them. If his removal will cause discord then the lesser of the two inflictions will be borne," [Sharh Al-Mawaqif, 8:353, Matba’h Al-Sa’adah, 1325, Egypt].

We cited this excerpt solely to counter the claim that there is consensus on the impermissibility of rebelling against the leader or deposing him even if he tyrannizes.
Note the reasoning of Imam Al-Jurjani: “A factor necessitating this… such as the emergence of something from him which disrupts the affairs of the Muslims or relapses matters of the religion…” for this is the foremost purpose of leadership.

It is noteworthy how Imam Al-Jurjani also makes it ‘necessary’ to remove the leader in the said circumstances by stating, “a factor necessitating this…” Additionally, see how he leaves the final verdict dependent on removing whatever is the greater infliction.

Considering this principle of bearing the lesser infliction, the Ulama in the seventies legislated that it is not permissible to rebel, in their era, against the leader Hafiz Al-Assad for the masses were not supportive.
We, however, in our times legislate unanimously with the majority of scholars from the Levant that it is incumbent to rebel, with support from the people, against the leader and oust him.

I do not think anyone will argue about the necessity of ousting the president of Syria since he has gravely faulted in both matters of religion and worldly affairs. Innocent blood has been spilled, women raped, prisoners tortured, wealth usurped, blasphemy publicized and Haram made halal. Thus his remaining in power is the greatest harm.

Dr Buti's last lecture. He discusses Christians, Jews, mixed armies, Dajjal, alQaida and western powers:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKg7rviXZKs

He also praises the Syrian army!!

He says those who made ijtihad and have taken weapons, now no reason remains for ijtihad and they should return back to Bashar!!

i have always believed qaradawi had a hand in the killing of Muslims in 'Iraq and Algeria.

however, what qaradawi is saying does not come close to what the rawafiD in south Lebanon, 'Iraq, and kuwait are saying. They are calling for a total annhilation of the entire Sunni population of Syria!

sacred knowledge, and ismail ray on deenport, all praised qaradawi, correct me if i am wrong. its most likely, qaradawi fooled everyone. Shaykh Ya'qoubi must be consulted about this man, who people claim is a mujtahid.

He is now a qutbi, or maybe he always was a hidden one.
