The Holy Prophet was a Prophet even when Syeduna Adam was not created! For a full discussion on this topic refer to this thread on sunniport. "When was RasulAllah ﷺ granted nubuwwah?" http://sunniport.com/index.php?threads/when-was-rasulallah-ﷺ-granted-nubuwwah.13544/#post-61883
dozens of Tafaseer have been presented here, all of which affirm the view of ahle-Sunnah, and totally refute what NAK is implying in his lecture. alHamdolillah it also proves that NAK has never read any of them; and it also proves that he presents his own "tafseer" - thereby making himself worthy of punishment, as per the following aHadeeth:- 1. Whoever offers an opinion in the Qur’an without knowledge, then let him make his abode in the fire of Hell. 2. One who interprets the Qur’an according to his own opinion, even though it may be right, has erred. That is for NAK, the "ustaadh Mufassir" of his institute; so what about his students, who become 'mini Mufassirs' after learning Arabic for a few weeks?
Allamah Abdul Wahhab Sha'rani writes in Kibreet ul Ahmar (from Futuhaat alMakkiyah) that: Our Master, the Holy Prophet (Allah's blessings and peace be upon him), was granted the ENTIRE Qur'an - without the details of chapters and verses - BEFORE the angel Syeduna Jibreel (upon whom be peace), came to him with the first waHy (on earth).
On this verse, from Tafseer Noor ul Irfaan, by Allamah Ahmed Yaar Khan Naeemi:- QUOTE Here, a negation is made only in regards to self understanding 1.e. he did not understand faith and Book through mere presumptions; negation is not of knowledge itself because prior to revelation the Holy Prophet (Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him) was already a worshipper, a devout ascetic, and a person of piety. In fact, the first revelation came when the Holy Prophet was in a state of seclusion (I'tikaaf) and worship of Allah Almighty. Also, at no stage in their lives were the Prophets unaware of Faith. Hazrat Isa (On whom be peace) at birth had said: And He has made me a Prophet''. You should also remember that when Jibreel (On whom be peace) brought the first revelation, the Holy Prophet knew with certainty that he was Jibreel and that whatever he was reciting was the Holy Qur’an and that he was sent by Allah Almighty. Therefore, the Holy Prophet did not enquire about his identity, nor regarding whether the speech was his own, or it was the Holy Qur’an. If the Holy Prophet did not have full knowledge about these things, then this verse would have remained doubtful to the Holy Prophet as harbouring a doubt about the Holy Qur’an is an act of infidelity. Says Allah Almighty: ''In it there is no place for doubt (S21: V2). Going to Warqa bin Naufil was to bestow faith to him and not for the personal assurance and comfort of the Holy Prophet (Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him). UNQUOTE

29. rumuz al-kunuz fi tafsir al-kitab al-aziz hafiz izzuddin abd al-razzaq al-rasa'aniy al-Hanbali (579-661 AH) in this he narrates a saying of imam ahmad ibn Hanbal: a person who says that he SallAllahu alayhi wa sallam was on the religion of his community - what an ugly saying - didn't RasulAllah sallAllahu alayhi wa sallam reject eating the flesh of the animals sacrificed for their idols (nuSub)? "indeed our Prophet SallAllahu alayhi wa sallam did not hold partners to Allah, even for a short interval of a blink of an eye - nor was he ignorant of tawHid" salwatullahi wa salamuhu alayh. ---
28. ruH al-maany mufti of baghdad, abu'l faDl shihabuddin sayyid maHmud al-alusi (d.1270 AH) one of the ta'wils of this aayat is that: "you did not know about those who would bear faith" (ahl al-iman). --- 3 snippets from the tafsir of the verse and not contiguous: --- ---
in tafsir of ibn rajab quoted below, he cites the hadith, "every child is on the fiTrah; it is his/her parents who make one jew or christian". so all of us are born muslims, but sub'HanAllah how filthy and ravaged is the heart of nouman khan - that he says such things about sayyidu'l khalq alayhis salatu wa's salam.
27. ruH al-bayan allamah ismayil Haqqi bursawi (d.1137 AH) he says, when RasulAllah sallAllahu alayhi wa sallam is superior to prophet yaHya alayhi's salam, who was given prophethood in his childhood! how can it be that he did not know even iman? al-iyadhubillah. this only means, you didn't know details of iman until the revelation.
but notice tabari is not saying that RasulAllah sallAllahu alayhi wa sallam was not muslim before and became after. al-iyadhu billah.
Can you please post the from the tafsir of Ibn Jarir al-Tabari who is the teacher of all mufasirin who came after him.
