And finally seen as it has been mentioned a few times, when I mentioned Asad Ali I did not mean it as a defence of him. I believe he definitely needs to be told off and corrected and my stance on him myself is neutral.

The comment RE him was made more as his whole issue and mistakes felt exaggerated and picked on to the point where I saw issues like the ones I mentioned neglected.

I understand you brothers' point of view on it. Again, apologies if it came across different.

I'm aware this discussion has kind of ended, but let me give some more detail of why that specific tweet was cited as an example despite the user deactivating.

The account/user of the account is a well known one on a MT community among the Deobandis. He even runs a page on Imam Abu Hanifah and is the son of a Deobandi aalim from Birmingham (I haven't been able to figure out exactly which one, just what's been said). The individual has been on the platform for well over 3 years and tends to deactivate and make new accounts, if it isn't for him getting suspended.

Among that crew and his mutuals are the likes of the students of Usman Deobandi from Bradford, some of whom spread a lot of constant nonsense and I have conversed with myself. In fact, they also run the AlIslamProduction channel as admins for their teachers and propagate a lot of their agendas on Twitter through it.

So, taking note of the twitter (ob)scene, where the playing field has been left open, by and large, for our detractors to romp about it unhampered, we have decided to launch this experiment - to try and expose those who have heretofore felt emboldened to operate with sinful impunity, posting against us any trash they like.

As our brother @Unbeknown stated "what does the messenger make of the message?"

A quick reply to the pic is, The "barelvi" identity is refuting those who need to be refuted not only that but the barelvi identity is the only which promotes love for the Prophet ﷺ, his companions and the ahlul-bayt, and the imams of the dīn. The deo's and wobs have been known to slander the ahlul-bayt and they claim to uphild the honor of the ṣaḥābah but we have even seen at times that they have disrepcted them. The Shia on the other hand are known to slander the ṣaḥābah at every opportunity they get and claim to follow the ahlul-bayt but disrespect Imām Ḥasan رضي الله عنه for his sullah with Āmir Muʿāwiyah رضي الله عنه. The deos and wobs have also disrespected the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ in their books, You will only see Love of the Prophet ﷺ, the companion, Ahlul-Bayt and the imams of the religion with those who associaate themselves with Imām Aḥmad Riḍā Khān ؒ .

AbdalQadir time to move along! will check pm's.

that's about the dumbest and most hypocritical thing i've read in a long time; and i've had my fair share!

just what is the wahabi and devbandi's identity built on if not ostracizing Sunnis for normal Sunni practices validated by ulama over the ages? who is it that has made it his life's mission to bash sound Sunnah and perfectly mubah actions as "bid3ah"? (desi context as well as non-desi; we're talking about wahabis and devs both)

the donkey who wrote that probably doesn't even know that the wahabi shayateen can't even contain their hate for Sunnis; they can't sleep a night without "refuting" scholars like Nawawi, Bayhaqi, Ghazzali, Suyuti, and more. that rotten wannabe muhaddith albani made a complete mockery of Hadith sciences and muhadditheen, something their jahil followers perpetuate until now

we are now in times where shayateen like besharam nadwi say looking for duas in hadith is bad culture!

sure, devs can hide behind the cheap alibi that they're working on islahe mu3ashara through the tablighi jamat, but they and we know that it's a trojan horse and a bogus excuse to call the awam to their heresies and real identity of opposing Sunnis!

Sure we Sunnis/Barelwis have our problems operationally and we all run our mouths on those issues every now and again, but that comment deserves nothing less than a تف!

so I poked around a bit and unearthed the following information.

The account in question, was created around 8th of December 2022 - that's less than a month from now. In its short-lived existence, it made a large number of anti-sunni posts and received a sizeable number of views and has been tagged by other rabidly anti-sunni (predominantly devbandi) accounts. It was registered from England, UK.

One of the tweets posted below suggests that the slanderer might have been following sunniport - as does its near instant disappearance on the heels of this thread.

This could also be pure coincidence - and the brothers who posted the tweets might just have been victims of a bad turn of luck. Then again, they were unlucky in their pick of of the beau ideal to make their case - not only was it imprudent, but also quite perplexing, given their admission that they have been following sunniport diligently.

Add to this, their refusal to take on board the view points of other members who were questioning the logic behind scouring twitter for nobodies in preference to those who are actually influencing sunni youth on a far larger scale. Instead of acknowledging the validity of the argument, they dug their heels in and returned the sympathetic, even if not totally concurring, gestures with condescension and more know-it-all remarks.

All of this raised my hackles and aroused my suspicions that they are in-league with each other and probably out for a troll.

However, I will give them the benefit of doubt for now as all of this can also be explained by things other than diabolical intents.

see how easy it is to get a Twitter account deactivated? Just one refutation is all it takes.

so don't worry, we can do that and refute asad ali too.

your account of your reasons for being here and telling people off for "wasting time with xyz" is rather patchy.
    You must excuse my scepticism.

    ---

Having been in the boat of confusion myself I know for a fact that people looking for help and guidance and seeking to build bridges with like minded people, in order to enlist their support in combating evil, are very timid and conciliatory. As a sensible practice, they generally don't barge into a community of potential collaborators, whip in hand, scolding it's members for "acting like school kids".

There many genuine brothers here, who have joined the forums recently, and asked @abu Hasan, @Aqdas etc. to spare some attention for xyz issue. They were very polite and reasonable.

Naturally, they did not arouse any conspiratorial thoughts in my mind.

But this thread appears to sprout from a pond full of fishes ...

It seems you know a lot about the account. Can you please tell us since how many years has it been functioning?

Just as aH dissected Usman Dev and Abdul Haleem Dev because their claptrap was posted here, you may post the objections here and if and when brothers have time, they can respond and you can place on Twitter.

As for Asad Ali, let's pray the incorrect rulings cease so that nothing has to be refuted. The cause is Asad Ali himself, not those who rebut. So please don't come here with appeal to emotion that we're worried about Asad and not Devs. Bit of a paradox that we're worried about Asad as it's devs he wants to unite with.

    السلام عليكم

it is true, i did make this account for this thread even though i do regularly keep upto date with sunniport. may Allah bless the brothers involved with this site as they have a lot of beneficial content.

however i personally wanted to get involved with this thread because we do need more of a sunni (more specifically barelwi) presence on twitter.

many lay muslims take their ilm mainly from twitter and twitter is dominated by deviant sects.

and since deviant sects lie about alahazrat, many laymen have this negative idea of alahazrat in their heads which then leads them to speak against us barelwis

my sincere suggestion: the time our ulama/learned people spend on other social medias such as facebook should be transferred to twitter as a tweet has a far greater reach than a facebook post

No I am not a student of knowledge. I asked for Ad'iyah so I can begin studying. Try reading between the lines brother. It's really not that hard.

No one imposed anything on others. It was a request to focus more where work is required. But sure, call everything a troll.

You see refuting deviants and helping people find themselves more confident in their creed as a waste of time but here you are trying to outsmarten a so-called troll on forums. Does it sound logical in your head or is it just me who sees the irony?

A new account liking my posts means what I said was fake and I am a troll.

Or... another concerned brother also supported the idea of asking members of SunniPort for help and decided to make an account to support the idea put forward.

But ofcourse your speculations and tin-foil seems to take more of an effect. The offer for you to call me to verify whether I am a troll or not is up for grabs too.

I can't believe this is the response a simple request to get more involved online got. From "don't waste time" to assuming concerned Sunni brothers are trolls and faking accounts with anti-Sunni content to have a go at conspiracy theorists on SunniPort.

I've heard of conspiracy theories and people with tin-foil hats but this definitely takes the number one spot.

An account as an example was shared and because the account was refuted and deactivated, you speculate and accuse concerned individuals of faking the entire thing? Such good akhlaq.

The account is a well known one and tends to do this. In fact the cheerleaders of Deobandis that supported it by sharing and retweeting are very well known in the Muslim community on the platform, I'll share it with you when the account is back and maybe then you can speculate whether I am faking all of these accounts and accuse me of spreading anti-Sunni content.

It was advised for brothers here to fixate more on defending Sunni creed and instead we have people assuming fake accounts are being made to criticise SunniPort.

Mind you, the only reason I requested more to get involved in refuting deviants is because I've seen knowledgable brothers on here capable of doing so who have the sound aqeedah.

Assume more if you wish. If you still think I'm a troll let us exchange numbers or meet over a cup of coffee face to face and I'll happily go over everything as a brother.

    ok
so you aren't a student but also a student. Great!
nothing is condescending. you just look like a troll, who is coming here and imposing on others to sit on Twitter to refute Bots.

To seek knowledge is fard upon every person. To learn about the correct islamic beliefs is also fard. If people choose to sit on twitter all day without trying to seek knowledge, thats their own loss. where did i say we should not learn about our deen and sit find mistakes of people?
ah so getting emotional now. all i just did was ask you a few question because you genuinely seem to make no sense, come here and want people to sit on social media and waste time.
OMG. I cant deal with with trolls like you
this looked fake from the onset. just one day ago someone creates an ibnzaid account and comes to back alialhanafi. such cheap tactics (use likes) to come back themselves up are usually seen on twitter, where we see people create numerous accounts to boost their own account (with likes and retweets).

Replying to a certain post on this forum does not mean somebody is good at refuting. Even serious students of knowledge aren't skilled at refutations (as we see on youtube how our ulama resort to slander rather than making ilmi points). Therefor if any mistake were to happen while arguing with these disrespectful deos they would screenshot it and further mock the imam.

Skilled ulama themselves sometimes make mistakes while reading alahazrat so how can we expect certain brothers here, to randomly start using the imams works, to refute these fake accounts. The margin of error on our side would be greater, which will give them more opportunities to be successful in their propaganda.

    account no longer exists.

    curious curious curious

it seems that the account was fake to begin with - created merely to make a point
    -----

I went there on a hunch - since all pics posted here are from within just past few days. lo and behold! the account has disappeared - why?

should we believe that the supposed devvie guy got so scared out of his wits - now that sunniport had taken up his case - that he deleted entire years' worth of juicy propaganda?

or is there a more prosaic explanation?

could it just be, well how should I put it, that some speech-maker who has recently been chastised on sunniport, he himself or his acolytes, created a fake account and put anti-sunni content on it - then a couple of his pals strutted in here to lecture us on how we got our priorities all messed up - even being so helpful as to post a "refutation" (here instead of Twitter, mind you) - then quickly deleted the account after taking a few screen shots?

that's amusing to say the least ...

p.s: I have edited out the person I had named, as it was bad form. Since I am merely guessing out loud, it's better not to name anyone. mea culpa.

    Bismillah.

I would love to do so. Especially to defend an Aalim who I respect so much. But I am not one who does taqlid of him, nor do I have his works, nor have I studied them. And neither am I a student of knowledge or someone with excessive ilm. Many brothers here are.

You seem to fixate more on mistakes than saving people from baatil aqeedah. I wonder why that is?

It's also very strange how me voicing a concern for the laypeople leads you to more condescending comments of me doing a good job and encouraging me to refute, as if this isn't something I would have done if capable.

Yes, I wasn't aware of the Imam 2 years ago. That changes nothing about me pointing out examples of what people moan about on these forums with an exaggerated anecdote. I have no specific "tafdili problem" in mind when I say 2017.

I have simply been on this site long enough to know that this is something people are very vocal about.

Maybe some husn dhan next time before trying to be patronising? It would help. As for you waiting for Ulama to deal with everything. Continue to do so. Why use these forums to discuss anything at all if you leave everything on then shoulders of the Ulama?

Do you sit on SunniPort all day instead of on Twitter like you keep assuming?
Yes, they have a lot of followers and infiltrate spaces and communities of Sunnis not from the subcontinent to feed them poison.

You know, the same ones you want to warn about the deception of the Deobandis.

Asad Ali making some mistakes and everyone screaming on about it is precisely why I mentioned him. Nobody is saying he is free from being corrected or does not require it especially considering his audience. But to defend your creed against lies and attempting to save laymen from falling into traps of ahlul bid'ah is something that very few are willing to do.

I have said what I needed to say. I am not from this Barelwi community, yet the Barelwis are my brothers and I have much love for Imam Ahmad Rida Khan. I simply came on as a concerned brother who does not want thousands more falling victim.

If you want to leave everything to pretending its 1890 and the internet does not exist to the point where lies online should not be countered with a good presence, go ahead. This is where other groups are excelling.

InshaAllah make Dua for my studies and ilm. Maybe I can set up an online police force just like this SunniPort squad you have where you pretend there is a need for commentary on mistakes of others by people "too busy to refute twitter randomers".
