sayyid na'imuddin muradabadi writes in his khazayin:

sayyidah ayisha radiyAllahu anha denied the divine vision whereas ibn abbas radiyAllahu anhuma affirmed. negation happens due to someone not knowing something and affirmation happens when someone knows. hence, sayyidah hadn't heard of divine vision so she denied it but ibn abbas knew it had occurred so he affirmed. so, affirmation takes precedence over negation.

    Subhaan'Allah!

there seems to be more spirituality and info in this one paragraph than alot of contemporary books in their entirety.

We know that [our] eyes are impermanent and the impermanent cannot see the eternal. Hence, it is unique to the dear prophet sallAllahu ‘alaihi wasallam to see Allah in this world. Even the other prophets were not blessed with this vision. The eyes of the soul, however, are eternal. We have mentioned that the awliya see the divine beauty with the eyes of the heart and on the day of judgement, we will all be given the eternal eyes that shall never cease to exist and on that day all the muslims will see Allah. Oh Allah, grant us [this vision], Aameen!
