Shaykh Asrar has also translated 'Nahw Mir' in the English language, which is a beginner's text in Arabic Syntax.

The speech you are talking about was done in Holland, and most of the mehfil was dedicated to Huzoor Muhaddith E Kabeer Allamah Zia Ul Mustafa Qadri's speech.

  5. i´m listening to a speech of mufti zahid hussain (thanks for the link) but what infuriates me is why such fluent English speaking Sunnis are told to only speak for "ten minutes" whereas shouting and screaming Urdu/Punjabi speakers get the full hour.
I am reminded of Manchester Victoria Park mosque when Allama Arshad Misbahi would get 10 minutes and then Muzammal Shah would get the rest of the time!

  6. I´m amazed that we have so many English speaking ulama! That´s great but begs the question: why aren´t they at every major Sunni programme like the Urdu speaking ones? Also, we need to start having programmes entirely in English. Thirdly, the Deobandits like Riyadh and Ahmad Ali have lots of cassettes released. We need the talks of these Sunnis to be made available as CDs, mp3s, etc. for "sale in all good Islamic bookshops near you" (!) and online.

  7. i think so. i had some cassettes by him about a decade ago and he was a mureed of shaykh nazim. whatever happened to him? i´ve not heard anything since...

  8. You mean Shaykh Haneef Haqqani?

  9. As for Sayyidi Shaykh Rashid al-Madani, he truly is a Wali of Allah ta`ala and an excellent `aalim. His student informed me that Sayyidi Shaykh Rashid al-Madani has entire books memorized by heart and is extremely soft-spoken and humble.

  10. Shaykh Asrar has studied under

    1) Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqu`bi
    2) Mawlana Rasul Baksh Sa`idi
    3) Mufti Yar Muhammad Qadri

He is currently writing a Sharh of Jami`i al-Tirmidhi.

Its very sad, alot of youngsters would come to learn from him, even had uni students that would come specially to him for answers regarding what they heard at the najdi talks in unis

Why doesn't that surprise me. The juhala have been placed in charge of the masajid and this is probably the biggest factor for the lack of progressiveness of sunnis.

Allama Rashid AL Madani born in Blackburn, went to Madani Markaz Karachi at the age of 16, studied for 8 years, completed Dars Nizami, had Dastar Bandi done by Ameer-e-Ahle-Sunnat (May His Sayaa remain upon us). Now teaches Dars Nizami at Faizan-e-Madina Accrington.

I know this brother very well, when he came back after graduating he was sent to Nottingham to be the imam of Islamic Centre, Main Masjid of Nottingham. He was with us for a year. MashAllah he is a very simple and humble Preacher of Islam. In fact the Comitee terminated his contract because he wouldnt scream and shout in his speeches. His speeches are full of ilm and wisdom and he does Arabic speeches at the UK Level Ijtimas

Can you give more info on Asrar Rashid - ie his background, where he studied etc. Is there any biography on him? How did he become shaykh-ul-hadith?

    Wasalam,

Can somebody post a bit more info on Shaykh Rashid Attari al Madani. It begs the question when we have so many young English speakers why they are not given the platform to engage with the youth.

  17. I know one of hazrat`e allama rashid madani's students personally.

    Bakhtyar H. Pirzada al-Azhari.

I recall watching a video of His Eminence MIH Pirzada entitled 'Could the Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) Read?', and his son translated the lecture succintly in English.

    In fact....here is the link:
