    1. Does this mufti believe being a faasiq isn't a problem when it comes to leading the prayer according to the hanafis?
    2. Does this mufti somehow want to cover up asad's sins despite them being public? This would make sense only if the sins had remained private and were not actually public but once they are, what's the issue with writing a letter about something that is already known? Forbidding evil is a part of the religion.
    3. Would he be calling asad to read naats in Bristol if he had committed other sins on the same basis that 'he's been working for the deen, he fell short and did a sin etc etc'. Or is it only certain sins that the mufti is open to overlooking?

Nice. It should be circulated among all Sunnis of UK and even any sincere nonSunnis who can see a common aim to preserve Islam and its principles in general, and a public example be set for all future influencers trying to act like knowledgeable shuyukh.

From within Sunnis, english speakers like Shahid Ali, Monawwar Atiq, Qamruzzaman Azmi and others should also sign, appreciate, and promote the good work started by whoever wrote that communique. They can issue their own statements and videos too but must also sign joint statements like this.

    exactly this.

Instead of coming on here and forcefully expecting a full fledge condemnation and lynching of an individual for a private sin they have committed based on a biased narrative in favor of another guilty (as admitted) party, all facts must surface, and other more important issues should not be downplayed. It’s more important that the individual is condemned for greater public deviations rather than lesser private ones. It can be argued that giving more importance to the latter than the former causes greater harm in society.

This show depicts a postmodern liberal attitude. People react far more emotionally to such things than a person deviating and becoming a perennialist.

No one in this thread sympathises with Zaid, but the sharia judgement must be followed.
While this type of situation triggers persons who are affected by libalism. What could be worse for them!!! Is it better to commit zina or to deny offensive jihad?

Again, no one is arguing we should ignore this incident, but rather assess all conceivable circumstances with as much evidence from both sides as possible.
    And take an adequate actions.

Yes. This scandal is bad. But deviation in Aqeedah is worse.
You got a problem with me believing that?
May be you’re deflecting because you yourself are a perennialist sympathizer and are hiding this “fact.”
    (Ilzami jawab)

Speak for yourself. Perhaps you will accept such scandals and make them mainstream. Don’t include me in your “we.”

Note: op mentioned in his original post that I was deflecting because I had something to hide. He then changed his statement and took that part out .
I’m responding to his original statement.

To make this issue about aqida etc is is how you desensitise people to BS like this. If we continue like this, in 10year we will accept scandals from imams as long as they are on the proper aqida by citing private life, overall good to community and other BS. Basically no different to the church scandals and dirty political scandals

You linked to FACE - I don't know much about it, or the story in question, but this article by Daniel haqiqatjou's team is connected to FACE, I read it some time back

i don’t think anyone in this thread gives a damn about his professional standing…he’s guilty of far worse than this scandal..and no one ever considered him an imam….my engaging with you is not in defense of this individual, but rather to open your eyes to the realization that the root of this issue stems from a bigger problem. And that is the greater community failing to recognize and acknowledge the valid sharii concerns expressed by many Ulema regarding this individual, his deviant positions and his promotion of evil. The current scandal is only a symptom of the underlying issue. Shariah and it’s sanctity were being trampled upon. And no one took heed. It’s only after such a disastrous event that occurred that some people decided to wake up. And now people are up in arms about this individual and that too from an overly biased perspective. When there was concern regarding the free-mixing and the excessive fan-girling. Where was the public outcry? When there was concern regarding perennialism and other major issues, I never saw your comment on this thread.

The point is when it suits your agenda, then he is your full-blown enemy. When it doesn’t concern you personally, then you don’t care. (“You” being general). We can’t pick and choose when to follow shariah and when not to and then scapegoat another individual more so than he actually deserves when something backfires for us personally.

    Khair
    That’s enough of a rant from me…

a lot of people nowadays also initially think that it’s okay to engage in an illicit relationship with their future potential spouse prior to marriage- since they assume that they will eventually end up getting married to this person, anyways.

Later on, they realize it was a mistake only after getting ghosted and subsequently learning that said potential spouse was actually already married…

    Can you spot the problem?

A lot of people find spouses online nowadays.

The point remains that we can and should comment on this person’s professional standing.
Whether is found guilty or not guilty, is this Imam’s behaviour acceptable in the shariah or not?

not convinced that “everyone” is doing it. Just thinking out loud.

I am waiting for Molana Samdani to say something on the matter but it appears that he won’t do so

the PDF does not 'gets removed' - we are deliberately deleting it.
and my advice to you is remove the sordid details of the conversation and keep the general comments. the document is still pathetic, but at least, it won't offend sensibilities.

and do not indulge in isha'at e fahishah.
