I didn't find anything wrong with Md. Yaqoubi. He's very wise and knowledgeable..

More unadulterated nonsense spewed by HY. Apparently he's trying to outdo zakir khalnayak in finding truth through hinduism.

Aware or not, my contention is,

These people support and defend Hamza.
    Hamza has major heresies.
Ergo, they're selling him to Sunni awaam.
    On Sunni platforms.

So there must be a process to vet molwis before they get invited.

    ---
About awareness, that's precisely the reason we've got to highlight it so that this doesn't become normalised.

    ---
The idea of having a repository of reliable ulama has been there for many years.

AbdalQadir time to move along! will check pm's.

Brother, needless to say I'm with you.

However, my serious question is this, as I'm not sure I have a good idea on it -

How many contemporary shuyukh are well read and well aware of the current "trends" in the world of "dawah"?

How many old-gen Urdu/Punjabi speaking mawlanas, khateebs, shaykhs etc. are aware of what you just said? (Who authored TSQ, who contributed etc.?)

How many English speaking ones are? Likes of Shahid Ali, Monawwar Ateeq, Asrar Rashid... and so on.

Are there any ways or methods to get any metrics or data on how much well aware and well read religious personalities are in current affairs? -

    1. political, duniyawi, economic which affect our daily religious lives too - LGBT, riba, mortgages, Gaza, local elections etc.

    2. directly deen-related current affairs - perennialism, multifaith houses of "worship", wahabism, normalizing qadianism, normalizing shiaism, normalizing ismailism... etc etc

See this link as an example - https://the.ismaili/usa/ismailis-elected-office-the-2022-elections

Most people including community leaders (nonismaili 'Sunni' crowd of any shade - maybe 60-70%) are blissfully unaware of these two gents being ismailis, some modern types don't care, some rightly or wrongly rationalize it that we're not using them or their religion, rather we're using the state's house of representatives to further our interests. These two ismailis are welcome in multiethnic Mawlids (they even hand out community development initiative certs from the house of representatives), Arab wahabi mosques, shia matams, desi Barelwi mosques, desi devbandi mosques... everywhere ... as some sort of brown man's voices as well as "community representatives" for Muslims ... for both campaigning for their political endeavors as well as being guests of honor.

Paradoxically, most times even those involved in community activities and current affairs are unaware of current affairs!

Both thr west and east are full of such examples.

We've got to get serious about defending Islam against major tribulations such as perennialism.

The apostate, murtadd, Hossein Nasr, led the publication of the distortion of the Quran and Hamza Yusuf praised the perennialist book and included his essay in it.

So how can we allow people into Sunni masjids who support and defend Hamza Yusuf? Isn't that a war against the Quran?

Those ulama who authorise invites to Sunni masjids for such supporters of perennialists will be named and shamed.
